After spending literal weeks going back and forth between the auto shop that did the VTC actuator replacement and timing chain + guides trying to locate the source of a rattling noise my car was making AFTER I took it to the shop to be worked on, I FINALLY located the source of the noise (a loose bolt on a protective shield under the passenger side of the engine bay).
