Official Manifold Cover thread

Naa I think it would look ok. Or white might actually look really good with the burple.
I actually used Dupicolor wheel paint. No sanding needed just a good cleaning and wipe down with alcohol.

i suggest not using plastic paint. i used it, and when i went to change the color with a none plastic paint, it wouldnt stick, so i literally peeled the layer of plastic paint off and wasted a brand new can of paint because it kept curling up.

thtis thread made me envious, so i went home during lunch and did some work...
we have an 07 VBP Sport...
duplicolor metallic blue (base)
duplicolor metal specks ocean blue (top coat)
it started to get a little too dark, so i hit it with some more metallic blue:
finished product (with a few coats of clear):

yup. thanks.
started the prep work last night (removal/ spray w/ brake cleaner/ 3M red scuffing pad). did the adhesion promoter (3 coats) and metallic blue (3 coats) this morning after the gym/ before work. finished up on my lunch break with a few light coats of the metal speck ocean blue and metallic blue. followed by clear (3 coats). then reinstalled the emblem. will put it back on the car as soon as she gets home with the fit. (its hers)
its not as smooth as i would like. but it will do. its under the hood afterall.
edit:
installed it last night
its pretty close to VBP

I used my manifold cover as a test run for the color that I am going to paint my calipers and quite possibly my drums (probably not though). And yes, I know this color has been done before on the manifold cover, but I like to bite Ray's style. It has to get under his skin a little. J/K.
Ohhhh HELLLLLLLSZ naaaa!!! I had plans to change mine anyways. Now I must.

Alrighties... Im done. I havent checked the pages, pretty sure no ones done this. Only thing I dont like is all the colors are satin. Close enough to flat. Bought the paint from Lowes and I hope it holds up.
Black base coat. Olive, navy, and purple top coats.
Around the VTEC badge theres still some orange. Whatever...

you're always different, and that's what makes everything you do so awesome
this is definitely one of my favorite manifold covers, and you own one of my favorite fits.
