Joe's Picture Thread - K powered Fit -
Keepitpg - I purchased the engine and tranny brand new from Honda, then I tore it down and rebuilt the top end for higher revs , the article was in Honda tuning back in late 2005 before the Fg Si was even released I had the engine and tranny for it, I swaped the valve springs, and retainers with S2000s. this gives me a red line of 9k but I lower it for daily to 8600. You do not have to make the purchase I did to make the FIT a street monster, you can buy used K series engines and just rebuild them for a cost savings.
And Yeah TrancedSailor it will be a bigger monster, I put a 11psi pully on her last month and the car over heated so much with the extra power I could not put down proper horsepower, so I took off the pully and went back to the 8 psi pully.

I would if I had a weapon R race header, test pipe, spoon bpipe and muffler, weapon R intake manifold, and the supercharger. It would have as much power as a stock K20A. With a motor that runs you about $800 as opposed to 4000+
TrancedSailor - you know the cost of a K series engine has been lowered alot so think of it this way - the cost of a high boost turbo kit is what 2500~ 3600? then how much is a used L15 engine? like 1000~ 2000? just guessing Ive never reserched it. BUT! thats like 5000 allready IF you blow that engine up with High boost, if an engine blows the Turbo kit is going with it, so you can only salvage what is left, so why risk keeping a L15 engine when you can replace a K20A2 for like 2500? thats normal aspirated not boosted.
You have to understand if you swap a K into your fit - YOU HAVE AN AMAZING RIDE! the way it should have been built.
Im being 100 percent honest when I say my fit runs like stock to me - I have no issues with cels, or any quarks. its like my fit was born this way I would recomend this swap to anyone because maintance is just the same as an L15 but only diff is it has more torque, and HP
I think its worth the money to just swap the engine out and leave the L15 in the garage for a bar stool.
yeah, whereas a Kraftwerks 10psi boost kit will be around $3500-4000 and it'll cost under $1000 to have it installed. It's less risky and less involved than a K-swap, but yeah, one day, when I have a degree and a kickass job, I'll go the K way lol
Yeah - well if you shop around (and I mean Shop) you can find some killer deals. but your right it is an expensive inital inventment but its more of an upgrade inventment I look it that way, because over all its just making it better
did your parents buy you a Fit? Sounds like you're under 20, in which case you should just be happy they bought you a new car lol.
I'm gonna start putting $100-200 away per month and in a few years I should have enough for the swap lol
