Exhuast Mod.

Hi all,

My mid silencer had just about burn out so i decided to replace it with a new one! the little fin's in it slow the air down alittle producing more pressure.

I have to say i didnt think it would make a massive difference and it didnt. But after awhile driving around town i started to feel some more power lower down in the revs. Like the car want to jump forward.

I have the same power at the top end so i guess it made a little difference.

Im happy with it and it gives me more clearance under the car.

Have any of you guys ever seen one of these?

All comments welcome.

Check out the mufflers where i got it done, some very awsome designs:-

Looks good. I would like to do that. Looks like it is the cheapest way to a performance B-Pipe. How does the stock resonator look like? Is it the same as what you replaced? How about sound, did it get louder or anything?

Resonator? it got a little softer in low revs but just as beefy at high revs, Idle you can hardly hear it... Makes such a change to having to listen to a deep drone all the time.

Power dont just come from a clear straight through pipe! you need some back pressure! Befor you see the old part that i had cut out it was flat an smooth inside (and burnt out) so there is no prussre... The engine needs alittle pressure inorder to recive the best performnance.. Getting it right can be tricky though! especialy when you have a custom exhuast like me. Im happy with it! Alot more get up and go off the mark.. Befor it was slugish till i hit the 3750RPM - 4250RPM (Vtec range) now not, its beefy all the way though the RPM range

I have known some people that have had a little accident and dented their exhuast pipe under the car (flatened it abit) and they say their car is performing better! Thats only cos theres more back pressure! There are lots of different mid sections in the shop and they are cheap so i thought i would start with the most dense mid secion and work my way through them till i found the optimum back pressure.

Yea, it does kill hp, this prob just makes you feel like you have a lil more trq over a straight pipe.
