9 Hour Detail with Paint Correction

Hey guys! I picked up my new 09 Obsidian Black Pearl on Friday the 22nd, and by Sunday I was itching to have it detailed by a very talented friend of mine. We worked on it Sunday night and Monday morning for a combined total of 9 hours. Here's a little video of the before and after (mostly after) that he threw together.

YouTube - 2009 Honda Fit Detail [HD]

Enjoy!

No after shot in the halogens? You cant tell the condition of the paint in the after shots. Theres no sunlight out.

LOL, I so happen to detailed my car as well... I dun have a friend to help me, but he did give me some pointers...

Took me 16 hours to completely detail the car - Wash, polish, seal, wax, vacume and detail engine bay.

I really like the result, but I have to say... I so NOT looking forward to do this once every 6 months =P

hahah It was a chore to do it. We didnt take pictures during it because once you're in the zone you dont really want to stop. However, I can sort of provide a step by step.

  1. get car wet and cover with foamy soap from a hose attachment
  2. gently massage paint with a silicone free sponge
  3. rinse foam off and cover car with citrus degreaser, rinse
  4. use adams detailing spray and microfiber cloth to clean bugs off
  5. dry, pull into garage
  6. clay bar the entire car (upper body workout)
  7. do one stage paint correction on entire car, basically buffing with a pad with almost no cut, very light polishing compound
  8. use zymol hd cleanse to prep paint for wax
  9. apply zymol concourse wax to the paint, windshield, wheels
My friend is a huge car fanatic and does this stuff for fun to his own car. He can work on your car if you're in the st louis area, just pm me and ill set you up.
