GK5 Comfortable Lowering Springs (Static vs progressive)

Hello all!

Hoping to spark some discussion and get some input on lowering springs for the GK5. More specifically, the difference in comfortability between progressive rate and static rate springs. I'm using this car as a daily which will see upwards of 3-4k miles a month. Comfort is the main goal, but would like to get this thing more stable on the highways.

I'm looking at Eibach and Swift springs specifically. Eibach has a lower rate on the bottom end but a much heavier weight on the top end also lower the car a bit more compared to Swift's. The Swift springs are just a bit stiffer then stock and provide a modest drop.

I feel like the Swift springs won't feel much different than stock as far as ride comfort goes so I feel like they are definitely a safe bet. However I'm curious about the eibachs. They're significantly softer than OEM rates without any load on them so I'm wondering if that will translate into a much more comfortable ride (excluding extreme bumps that is) while still providing much more stabilization under load.

What are your thoughts on static vs progressive rates?

OEM:
F - 131 lbs/inch rate
R - 148 lbs/inch rate

Eibachs:
F - 120 - 160 lbs/inch rate
F - 1.2" drop
R - 86 - 183 lbs/inch rate
R - 1.4" drop

Swift:
F - 140 lbs/inch rate
F - 1" drop
R - 157 lbs/inch rate
R - 0.9" drop

I googled the topic as this all sounds interest, and spent some time reading a few articles and watched a few youtube vids. if the above link holds true, progressive rates should offer you the most comfort. those eibach's may be the way to go

I've had several different springs on my Protege5 when I used it for DD and track days. I prefer the Linear rate springs over the progressive rate personally. Everyone's mileage will vary.
