Stoptech Braided Stainless Steel Brake Line Wear

Looks like this was double posted, the newest link is here: https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/fit-...line-wear.html

Hey all, I was recently looking over my car with the wheel off when I noticed some wear on my braided SS lines that are about a year old. My guess is that the inside of my wheels rub against the line in the spot pictured when I’m turning the wheel substantially. I thought this was weird because I haven’t seen any mention of this issue elsewhere, even with people on more aggressive setups than mine.

For some info:
- My wheels are 15x7.5 +42 949 6ULs
- I’ve been on stock suspension until mid June 2024 when I installed the fortune 500’s. I noticed the brake line wear was there before I put the suspension on as well.

I’ve considered loosening the top bolt that holds the bracket for the brake hose to route through and turning it up to maybe give it more clearance, but I haven’t tried anything yet.

Since I need new brake lines in the front now, I’m torn between getting another set of braided SS lines and hoping I don’t run into the same problem or just going back to OEM-style rubber hoses. I’m partial to the SS lines though for their durability as the car sees autox and track work.

I was wondering if anyone has experienced the same problem and/or has an idea as to what may cause it and how to fix it.

Thanks in advance!

Straight view, passenger side front wheel well.

Close up view of the wear on the brake line. This is the passenger side front wheel well as well.
