Be careful with buddy club because I heard that they've started outsourcing production to Taiwan (They were starting this with the DC5 coilovers).

hey, where did you find the stock spring rate data?
can anyone else confirm?

i'm strongly considering the KB's, i'm just debating what spring rates.

gotta admit i was a bit skeptical about a good coilover for under a grand, but people seem to be happy with them.

Me too, people with D2s and Tein seem happy with them and had no problem.

good for you. if that was the best available at the time, there is no shame. i just wish KW and the other european manufacturers would have made a real effort at making coilovers for the fit.

true, but there are people that are happy with lowering springs and stock shocks. Take everything with a grain of salt. That's why i take more to heart what a track driver or an auto-xer has to say than someone that just wants to lower their ride.

If you just want a lowered ride, there is nothing wrong with getting springs and calling it a day. I know for a fact i won't be happy with that or bad quality dampers. i've modified too many cars to not know what i like. Plus most people that are happy with D2's probably don't know what a bad quality damper feels like. I've ridden in cars with both megan and D2's they are pretty shitty i guess, but better than stock in a wierd way.

Put it this way, i wouldn't pay for D2's, but if they were free i'd use them cause it does lower the car and reduce body roll. But when i'm shellin out money for something, it has to be decent at least.

Funny enough.. i had a set of Tein HA's on my old car. They come with the softest springs 6/5 but they had excellent dampers, moreso than the HE's all the drifters raved about which had 8/6 rates but the shocks weren't up to the task. My car handled better IMO

i hear ya. i've been researching springs all day and so far i've found that the swifts, progress, and spoon lowering springs all end up with far too little rear spring rate relative to the front, assuming that stock is 180/300.

and with no one other than spoon making seperate dampers, dampers which i can't really find any good data on, it makes me think that if you're serious about track or adjusting the suspension to get a little more rotation, one may have to just go with the 5 way adjustables/ spring set from mugen with a progress rear bar. either that or just a rear bar on the stock springs.

but in terms of just lowering a car, i think that the swifts make a lot of sense, considering they have only a 7% change in spring rate (3/5k equivalent to approx. 167/279lbs, assuming 180/300lbs stock) and assuming that one will use the stock dampers. i don't like progressive springs (spoon, progress), and the published 200lb rear rate on the progress springs equal massive understeer.

frustration. i haz it.

T1R has the equivalent of the rates you want.

check aj racing

A&J Racing :: Suspension & Brakes :: Fit/Jazz (GD3/4) :: T1R S-Coil V2Lowering springs for Honda Fit 06+

front is 3.2kg/mm and rear is 6.1kg/mm which translates to 179lb/in front and 341lb/in rear.

those don't actually look too bad. rate is good, and the drop is a little on the too much for what i want. problem, though, is the progressive winding. can't have it all, can you? but yeah, those rates are a lot more along the lines of what i had hoped for.

if you are die-hard about getting linear springs, get them and a progress rear sway bar if you find you need more rotation.

Anyone know if the Buddyclub coilovers are for USDM Fits? Their main site has nothing listed about the N+ Spec for Fits, but Modacar has them for sale without mounts.

i m rollin on Tein basics for almost 6 months now, and they are awesome no complaints so far, i used to have Tanabes lowering springs they were good too, but the Tein C/O kicks ass. No issues with it yet and i do ALOT of hard cornering. Just my input.
