Stock Height - Negative Camber?!

Stock Height - Negative Camber?!

I hit 46,000 miles on my GD recently and I went in to see about my second tire rotation (America's Tire). The guy there informed me I have negative camber on both the front wheels, and showed me the inside of the tire wearing disproportionately.

Then I start reading up about this stuff today and it's looking like the camber is NOT ADJUSTABLE?! on this car. Does this mean I definitely fucked up and something is bent or worn??? Not looking forward to fixing this...

the car has some camber stock for handling, toe is what REALLY kills the tires..
you rotated the tires only twice in 46000 miles???? or is this the second set on the car

i rotated once or twice, can't remember. the 46000 miles were driven in just a little more than a year. first set of tires, and they're really worn down on the inside edge.

the manual for the jazz online says the front is supposed to have 0 degrees camber and the rear should have -1 degree camber. mine seems definitely not within spec. does anybody know if there's enough play in the damper bolts to adjust from negative camber back to normal?

could be the aligment as well. doesnt have to be camber.

are you saying the toe could be causing excessive wear on the inner edge like that and not camber? if so i guess that's good news. thanks for the help.

i was also wondering if i need to pay for a 4-wheel alignment even though the rear isn't adjustable, is it possible for them to do a proper alignment of the fronts without reading the back's measurements? just trying to save some cash, thanks.

the rear should be okay, unless something happened in the accident in your pic.. and you should rotate tires every 5-7k.. as long as you keep the toe okay and rotate regularly you can get good life out of your tires.. my friend has original tires, never rotates and about 20k and hes wearing down too

my avatar is my old, totaled Fit. fortunately i had it replaced.

even though the rears are not adjustable, if they were to be out of spec somehow a 4-wheel alignment could try to compensate for it so it would be worth getting. is the consensus that the rear is going to be fine unless you've been in a major accident, so it's not worth paying for the 4-wheel alignment?

Go get a front alignment. The rear aren't adjustable but if you want you can have the alignment place measure it.

it's ok to have negative camber on the front wheels. it's also ok to have positive camber. the stock specs are from -1.0 to +1.0 degrees if i remember correctly. you will be in that range unless you crashed your wheels into a curb or something. it's a lot more likely that your front toe went out of spec just from the roads. you may have negative toe (the tires are pointed away from the centerline of the vehicle when you're going straight). that will cause a lot of wear on the inside of your tires, especially when in addition to slightly negative camber.

have the alignment checked and adjusted if needed. you'll be fine.

lol, america's tire (discount tire) continues to demonstrate they are low class. your treadwear is coming from your toe angles, not so much just your camber. as noted above, if you're worried about getting max treadwear, get your toe angle set to zero.

I didn't rotate tires until I had 20k but started to notice a noise in the back. After I rotated the tire the noise got much loader but now in the front. The one tire that had been on the rear right was now on the left front and it was causing all the noise. I replaced the tires and now rotate every 6k. I had a alignment done and they told me the back was out of spec a little but not adjustable. Did it happen at the factory or maybe the transport to the dealership. Is there any way to get the rear corrected?

Hankook and I have about 25k on them
I like these tires, seem to be wearing well but I am rotating every 5k

did u curb check or jump any curbs or hit any big pot holes? if u did then something might be bent a little. camber and toe is adjustable a little bit in the rear. they make camber shims for the rear adjustment. but this is aftermarket and there is only so much adjustment.

I don't remember hitting anything but could have. I had the alignment done by a independent garage but I plan to take it to my honda dealer to have it checked out.
