UPDATE:

I now have about 80,000 km on the car (20,000 since the rotors were resurfaced) and they're warped again. It's not as bad as before, but it's started and it can only get worse. I guess Honda uses cheaper metal or what not for their rotors to keep the costs down on the Fit. Who knows.

Anyways, I'll probably be going to a new set of aftermarket rotors soon. It looks like the problem will just keep coming back with the OEM ones.

I haven't removed the calipers to see if the brake pads are still wearing unevenly though.

if the pads are uneven again it could be a caliper issue. if they aren't clamping evenly one pad will generate more friction, thus, more heat. Uneven heating and cooling on the rotor would likely warp it. If thats the case its probable a more expensive rotor wont fix it. It may take longer to warp, but it probably will eventually.

just a guess.

I've used the search button and found some threads that say "I've read threads where some fit owners have extremely uneven pad wear" but I've been unable to find those.

Anyways, I have an '07 fit, automatic, with ~58,000 km's (36,000 miles) and my rotors must be slightly warped because they shudder/pulse during high speed braking. And just recently my pads started making the "replacement indicator noise" so I checked the pads. The inner pads (side with the piston) is down to the wear indicator while the outer pads look like they're still brand new. What causes this? Is it due to the warped rotors? Or is it because it only has a piston on the one side?

Also, I hear the replacement indicator noise even when I'm not on the brakes and just coasting. So I'm assuming the pads are rubbing the rotor all the time. This can't be good and is there anything that can easily be done about it?

As a result, I want to get rid of this problem for obvious reasons. Since I'll likely need to replace the rotors I figure I'll install some aftermarket rotors and pads. I don't race around or brake hard but its nice to have better stopping power if and when its needed.

So basically I'm just wondering why the pads wear unevenly and why the pads would be constantly rubbing. Thanks.

Its not that unusual for pads over pistons (inner pads) to wear more than the outside pads. The solition is to make sure the caliper slides easily across the guide pins. Often the caliper doesn't slide easily and holds the outer pads away from the rotor while forcing the inner pad to do most of the work of braking, hence uneven wear. And that also can create the condition where the inner pad does not fully release from the rotor thus increasing inner pad wear.
