Question braking and abs, with good road surfaces

08 fit sportie, 5 sp. manual. Been to a mechanic, who said I have alittle less then 50% left on disk pads. Been noticing that they abs is coming on more often since this appointment. Has anyone notice this when there brakes get to the halfway mark.

Brake pad material at 50% doesn't have any effect on ABS.

Not sure if brake indicator light and abs light are on the same circuit. Haven't happened on my Fit but with my previous experience with an older car, the light coming on was triggered by the brake fluid level being low. Won't hurt to check. And as doctordoom mentioned, I don't think pad wear will trigger your abs light. Just my take...

I thought the OP was talking about the actual ABS thudding (ie, slipping tires).

Sorry hard to tell "abs coming on" to me meant light indicator... perhaps activate, engage... heheh... semantics...
