Yea, I looked at the floor pan and rear brace images. Agree, totally different.
I see the Insight rear suspension is similar to the Fit, but it too has drum brakes.

honestly guys, the easiest way for rear brakes without using aftermarket parts is to buy a crz rear axle and brake lines, and swap your front hubs to the crz hubs.

They go right on, and then you grab a set of 5x114.3 rims and you are good to go.

Also new ebrake lines for crz most likely

Ahhh I'll stay with the 4x100 with the Volks. Besides Having a good front brake setup will be sufficient enough for most unless you're pushing a k swap or boost setup.

Fastbrakes Del Sol spindle inquiry

I contacted Fastbrakes this week. I was trying to purchase only the bracket (spindle, knuckle thing...no lines, caliper, rotor). I thought the kit used Del Sol spindles but it seems not. Here is my question to them and the reply I received.

Question:

I would like to purchase a pair of, not sure on the name, 2008 Honda Fit rear spindle/knuckle and bolts. I think the kit you offer came with Del Sol rear spindles/knuckles. I would only like the spindles/knuckles and bolts only and not the entire kit. Please let me know what I should do to purchase these parts?

the Product Code is: FASTBRAKES FIT REAR DISC SWAP

http://www.fastbrakes.com/ProductDet...+swap&CartID=1

Reply:

I’m sorry but we no longer have the parts needed to swap the Fit to rear discs. The kit used a custom bracket to locate the calipers; it was not a swap using del Sol rear spindles, those are a completely different type of set up.

What do you guys think? I am trying to learn more about the rear drum to disc conversion.

As his response mentions, they use a bracket that goes in between. You don't need to replace the whole spindle. Look up apexanimals thread and DYI, plenty of good info.
