its a good idea but its not cheap and putting aftermarket wheels will mess with warranties people dont want to jack with.

ssr isn't the first to do this. i can't remember the company, but it might have been volk racing. they offered a lightweight wheel and tried to market it as being good for fuel economey and hybrids a couple of years ago.

 

I like their wheels but my 9.5lb rpf1's will do.

Never caught that and I have owned Volks in the past, thanks. Guys on the Hybrid forums are even mounting full disc wheel covers for MPG

Definitely one of my top 3 wheel choices the RPF1's, they are on the 'green energy saving list' whether they market them that way or not.

 

yah, how 'green' can that be wasting a lot of fuel making such a small production run wheel vs OE wheels.

But, a lot of manufacturers make aftermarket wheels. I think it's very positive that SSR is taking the step to show that they support the hybrid/small car market. They have been making the Type C for a while now, so offering options to the Hybrid owners is not a bad idea. Especially if it does improve mileage, and handling performance as most of those cars are boats.

And I saw the Volk Racing site, it doesn't look 1/2 as good as the SSR one.
