I guess 13x9 tires just don't FIT............

Nope, that's due to the lack of brake caliper clearance. The smallest rim that will fit a GD is a 14.

looks like it just need a spacer to clear the caliper - will look at it again tomorrow

Go for it. But I have read on here that 13s won't work due to the clearance issues. I think it was the rim's barrel to be more specific.

yah I am pretty sure 13" will fit but for these wheels a spacer is needed since it was barley rubbing the caliper - the brakes for these things are nice and small

Oh ok, well just wait for tomorrow, give it a shot, and post some pictures with your results.

13s will fit. 13" steelies were stock on the base variants here Just not sure what the offset was.

don't need power - sticky tires will make the car ride on rails

eesh, talk about overkill... aren't those drag slicks?
i don't think you can even turn the wheel on a front load with a 9" width rim and all that rubber lol

those are Hoosier R25B which are road race compound

the tire isn't the issue, it's your width. when you brake and the load switches to the front wheels, the dive will prevent you from turning unless you're planning on removing your fenders altogether.
