Lightbulb Wheel question for a 2015 LX

I understand factory wheel offset is +53mm for the stock wheels on the gk. I'm trying to gauge whether +42mm offset would work on my 2015 LX.

I'm eyeing the Touren TR9 3190 (3190-7701MB) and would like to know if it's going to give me any problems if I put 205/40R17 tires on it.

Bolt Circle: 4 x 100mm/4.5"
Offset: +42mm
Hub Bore: 67.10mm

I'm interested in getting the wheel as flush with the fender as possible, with a +42mm offset, is that going to be a difficult task? I'm not really sure how far out I can safely distance a wheel from the hub.

Any guidance would be appreciated, thanks!

Yes, I'll help. Offset is useless without wheel width.

Offset = the distance the mounting face is "offset" from the centerline of the wheel.

So for example two wheels have the same offset, yet one wheel is 6" wide and the other is 8" wide. The 8" wide wheel will now be 1" closer to the strut and poke out 1" further to the outside of the car than before. Get it?

You can do the research for the OEM wheel width, what the width of the wheel you want to buy or fit is and then the math.

Is 2mm less clearance to towards the strut something to worry about?

You'll be closer to flush... I'm not entirely familiar with wheel clearance on the current GK5 Fit to be honest; however, you should be ok up front since Fits can usually stuff a decent amount of tire up front. The rear MIGHT have minor rub on hard bumps especially if you use a 205/45R17 (closer to factory tire size in terms of outer diameter) instead of the 205/40R17 (smaller OD and closer to the GD3's factory size).

Using an EX wheel as a guide point...

185/55R16 vs 205/40R17 with your wheel choice.
