Tire recomendations for 2007 Fit Sport

I live in NYC and so we don't put a lot of miles on our car, about 5k a year. The tires will probably dry rot and age out before we wear them out. Any recommendations for solid tires that will hold up in our wintery climate but is more budget minded? I also don't have a lot of tire centers near us in Brooklyn. Pepboys is one.

Sorry for the boring, probably oft asked question.

Thanks for the advice!
Travis

stock tire size is 185/55R16 Try the Yokohama AVID Ascend
for a little larger 205/50R16 Try the Continental Extreme Contact, maybe for pricey than you are looking for.

Oh I think your 2007 is different than my 2009, you come with 195/55R15 in that case I would run the Kumho Ecsta. These are great tires for the price. You can get all these tires at Tire Rack and have shipped to a local installer, Tire Rack has a list of them. Or ship them to you and you take them anywhere that sells tires and they will mount them.

Does anyone have experience with the Michelin Premier tires or a good recommendation? I know the Kuhmos grip hard on the street. I need something that can handle a lot of nasty driving conditions in the mountains. I have the 15 inch wheels.

Kumho Ecsta 4X II in 195/55/15 have been happy with them. Did as well as any All Season Performance tire in Chicago winter.

General Altimax RT 43 are an excellent tire for our '07 sport. Also, if you have a local WalMart near you, they have a selection of cheaper priced tires. Check them out on line. I bought the Mastercraft 440 tires for my Fit after the Generals wore out. The car is driven daily on gravel roads and I decided to go with a wider tread and not spend the extra money on higher priced tires. WalMart had the Mastercraft tires on clearance; I got them for a song after researching them to make sure they were a reliable brand.

^^ Those. The RT43 is a great budget-friendly tire.

I had the same issue here and I ended up going to Walmart. $188, not bad...........hmmmmm the price went up on these! Been happy with them. Not doing anything crazy like drifting or driving 200+ mph. Bump the tires to max 36 psi and they still deliver pretty well.

I ended up going with the Michelin Premier tires but even though I got an alignment the inside of the front tires are wearing fast. Any ideas as to what would cause this?
