2 You can't use that hole that is already there, it's not big enough.

This morning I noticed that my hood wasn't flush with the fender on the damper side, it looks like it might be hitting my strut tower bar. I unbolted the damper and then closed it and the hood went back to normal. I need to investigate this further. Some spacers where it bolts on at the top might fix this.

After inspecting it we may just have to adjust where it's bolted to the hood arm. Move it down a bit, becuase it doesn't actually appear to be hitting the strut bar after all.

Oh... Please keep us interested updated with this. That really sucks. I would not be very happy to get it installed and then have my hood not flush. Hope its an easy fix for you smatts.

I have taken a look of Matt's car and that will be an easy fix, we probably need to let the damper bracket sit a little further back the problem will go away.

Please test them before shipping... PLEASE... I'm tired of all my purchases for my Fit needing modification to the original specs...

My Scosche kit... my amplifier... my hood deflector... they all needed modifications... I would be very upset if my hood damper needs modification other than the two holes to be drilled.

It wasn't compatible with my J's front strut bar, be careful with what strut bar you are running with this hood damper. Other then that, the damper itself looks great and performs well I could make it work with my J's front strut but it would require grinding a small part of the strut mount down.
