First let me say...I don't know the answer. If it were mine, I would take the WR intake off, mark where the port is on the stock intake and take it to a machine shop. Let them cut a matching hole in it. That's a simple job to them and shouldn't take much time or money. Then I'd hook the hoses back up the way they are from the factory and see if it eliminates the CEL.

Have you contacted WR to see if they have a solution?

WR is a part of this forum, if they have a solution they will post it.

Right now I am going to verify what is causing the CEL and if it is the EGR I am basically doing what GAFIT suggested and having a shop put in a port back where it was before and see if that works.

Sounds like a good plan. Maybe if WR reads this they'll offer to add the port for you...?

From the research ive been doing ...
I have not yet confirmed this.. but just by looking at the schematics from the dealer and pictures you guys have up...

If we added a nipple where the stock EGR recirculation port is on the cylinder head back onto the intake manifold flange the CEL should go away..

In turn do not put the port onto the manifold itself..

Correct me if im worng and if anyone has any comments..

I believe this will work Leo, I will verify the CEL cause tonight. How do you propose to go about adding it? Any pics or diagrams of the location you are thinking about?

I don't think shipping the manifolds back and forth is cost effective for anybody. Probably the best and cheapest fix is to maybe ship out some self tapping nipples for the manifold? (if there is such a thing; remove the manifold, use a template to drill a specific sized pilot hole and then let the nipple tap itself in)

Confirmed

CEL code: P0401
Description: Insufficient (or low) EGR Flow

I think there is not enough vacuum at the new EGR routing location (marked with a green dot).

Upon closer inspection; the existing location had enough vacuum that KW uses it on their supercharger system in conjunction with the supercard.

I don't mind if this is vented to atmosphere rather than back into the engine, but it looks like it needs a certain amount of vacuum in order to function correctly. Suggestions?

Bump for alternatives?

Thinking about using a Tap & Die kit to put a threaded hole in and then matching it to a pipe fitting for the tube to connect onto.

That's what I would do. Just pick a size and get a hose connection and a plug so that you can plug it if it doesn't work.

I'm highly tempted to get one for my UK L13. Am I right in assuming that I wouldn't get a CEL up as it's like the Asian model??

^^^ I thought it was just the NA engine getting the CEL?

Awww dammit!! Who banned Claymore and for how long I was hoping for some feedback on my manifold fix, no wonder he wasn't posting anymore.

Also BUMP for leo!!
Please let me know if you have had any luck with this idea.

I was thinking about running the blue recirculation hose under the TB and into the nipple on the top of the manifold at the back to increase vacuum. The only problem is the nipples are different sizes. Right now it kind of jams into the airflow going into the runners.

Going to try this next week.. WIll post status afterwards...

Funny thing is the Asia versions dont have EGR...
And we have been selling IM's to Signapore , Hong Kong, Thailand , China , Russia and Europe..
It's Only USA and CANADA that has EGR... ALl the other guys have had no problems..

Very funny... The Asia Version / JDM version because it has Wire Throttle and NOT DBW like Canada and USA...

At Any rate were going to get to the bottom of this.. All USA and Canada cars have DBW.. SO all our USA spec IM's for FIT's are going to re-evaluated and revamped to fix this problem...

We are very sorry about any inconveniences it has caused anyone..
We are on top of it right now..

Please PM me if anyone has comments and or idea's about this problem..
Your suggestions are valued..

We have solved the problems with the intake manifolds by welding a port to re-circulate the EGR like OEM..

Any people who have bought the intake manifold, and would like us to modify it for them, please PM WR STAFF or myself.

Thanks..
Leo..
