well, i got my set a few days ago, i installed them, and i have to say, i think the suspension is great!! however, i'm afraid i messed up the driver side axle/driveshaft. while i had the stock strut removed, the wheel hub sort of pushed itself outwards, dislodging the inner joint, i kind of forced the joint back together without removing the boot to see exactly how it goes back together...well to make a long story short, now i get the typical cv popping sound from time to time. i'm afraid i might need a new axle now due to my carelessness.
I took everything off the stock strut that the manual said to. The strut sticks out about an inch from the rubber on top. When stationary, everything is tight, but when I go over bumps and hop on the frame inside the passenger cabin, it pops out, moving up about half an inch. I've been told an impact gun will tighten it more so I'm going to that soon. If that doesn't work, I'm going to try the stock nuts that don't have the nylon in them.
i'm in everett washington, any other washington fits are welcome to hit me up for info...
did you install yours yet, i can help you if you haven't
SSMTEN makes a good point to use scissor jacks when installing the front dampers. The factory design on the GE8 FIT is in my opinion not so great when uninstalling the front struts. When the front struts are taken out the front hub drops and droops, if it drops too much the axle tends to pop out and even at times pop out of the CV boot. This can be avoided by either using scissor jacks like SSMTEN or even another floorjack or a bungee cord to keep the hub in place while you go to install the damper.

YO, hope everyone's happy more or less, can't believe how many posts are on this B... I'll need to go back a little and read. I've had mine on for a long time now. I'll do a review soon. But I am overall very happy with the look and feel of my car.
Regarding the CV boot. I know during my own install the same thing happened and the axle had to be taken to a shop taken apart and re-packed with a new fastener for the boot. Make sure you heed the warning.
Or click on my trader rating the (0) thing up there to the left under my name and give me some love.

Yo, one thing I failed to mention was the fact that I rolled my fenders to prevent rubbing. MADE A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE!
Also if you're happy, drop a visitor message on my profile to help people know I come through on my word.

yeah, i'm very happy with the suspension. Mutem made it happen, Masaki/Apexi came through with the parts, and thanks to FitFreak, we got a great deal on the group buy. so i personally want to say thank you to ALL for making it happen.
Hey guys, quick question for everyone who installed these already. I just went to a shop for and estimate and before they even talked about anything they told me get a camber/caster adjustment kit. Do I actually need this??? I'm planning on lowering a half inch to and inch. Isn't the normal adjustment made during alignment?? Tia!
just go and get the camber bolt
Specialty Products Company
do we have a full on camber kit for GE8???
if so which brand is it??
thx

u don't need any camber kit or camber bolts to install the suspension, i didn't do any of that stuff, just threw on the suspension and voila! instant pimp status...i wonder how much a shop would charge to put it in... it took me 3 and a half hours to install the whole setup, at the rate shops charge around here, that would be about $400 bucks!

Hey guys, so I got a really nice shop near me to agree to install these for 250 with my rear sway and rear strut tower brace as well. Granted they are easy and simple to put on when your already doing suspension which is why i said just do em. I am getting it lowered an inch for now. They will also do an alignment for me for 60. So 310 out the door and I'm all set with suspension and bars installed. I would have done these myself but I don't have the time or knowledge for this install and I'm a big enough person to admit when I'm over my head with something. At least if something goes wrong, it's their fault now.
The way I see it, is with install costs, these are still cheaper than if I bought them new, NOT in a GB. So im still happy. Next to come is probably the Engine Mount that angryfit is hooking us up with. Thanks man!

Finally took out the front suspension again and torqued everything down and no more clanking. Thanks Masaki for the help! Now I can drive this beast hard!
This is getting more and more fun working on the Fit

Just thought I'd offer a quick update on mine. I readjusted the dampers to two turns from hard (someone else mentioned that setting before, I forget who) and it has dramatically improved my ride quality on the crummy roads I have to drive on. It sure is a pain to adjust the damping on the fronts since they're so far recessed. I also couldn't get the adjusters to fully seat in the screw adjusters for the front struts so I had to use a #3 allen key to do the adjustment. I think the default settings were 8 clicks from hard and its about 10 clicks per full turn so I have mine currently set to 20 clicks from hard.
With the softer setting, the ride is so much better now for the most part and is surprisingly smooth despite the stiff springs. Some bigger bumps are a bit bouncy with the softer damper setting but I can live with that. I think I've found my perfect balance for now! On-ramps have never been so fun

Just finish installing Apexi N1 + 3 more bars under the car last week.....
here is what I have to say!!!!
FxxKen Awesome!!!!
the suspension make my car handle like a go kart....I have 1 finger gap all around! Stiffness is set to the middle.
I will post some pix when I have time to take them!!
I have 2 front lower tie bar, 1 mid tie bar, 1 ladder tie bar for mid back, 1 sway bar
with all this mod combine, the ride is amazing!
2 problems I found tho: 1) OEM tires are not holding up (they sucks) 2) need better brakes (I can turn faster but braking sucks) maybe I am driving faster than before thats why!!!
hahahaha =)
