EGR Valve Rusting already?

Hey, i noticed that my EGR valve/control unit is rusting already! How is everyone else doing? I know that Rich@Honda had to replace his already under warranty, has anyone else needed to do it? Is there a TSB about it?

This is quite a problem in the UK, just had to replace mine at a cost of £220!! An Honda wanted another £70 to do the job for me, best thing to do is get a stiff toothbrush an some brake cleaner and give it a good scrub round the valve, keeps them goin for a while longer!

Its just surface rust... I see it all too frequently. Take a rag and spray some wd-40 on it, then use it to clean the rusted area.

Ah, I thought you meant on the actual valve. On the UK cars they coke up really badly from the exhaust and fail eventually, always worth checkin just incase
