strange issue happens today
GE8 used to turn on headlights automatically everytime
when the engine is started
but today I saw the headlights are off
even switch to high beam
when turn the manual switch, still off
the fog lamps are off too.
the turn signals are fine...?
anyone got this problem before?
I think maybe the main fuse is burn
not sure!

 

Did you check fuse #28?

If the main headlights are out, fog lights are automatically out. That's because the headlights (on low) power a relay that allows the fog lights to come on. With no power coming from the headlights, relay won't allow power through and the fog lights stay off.

 

my headlights don't work when one of them go out. check both bulbs to see if one went out

 

yes, my friend has a auto repair shop and he checked all the fuse
they all good
he suspect its the relay.
because he was very busy that day so he couldn't help me
I assume he means the HID relay?
sorry my mistake, the fogs turn on fine.

 

both HID bulbs are fine, the ballast are fine too
very strange it only works for a few minutes when the engine is started.
then it shut off automatically
If I shut down the car, wait an hour, it cools down
fire up again, both HID works again for a few minutes, same problem
last night, I removed the HID bulbs,
put back the stock OEM H4 bulbs so I can drive at night....for now
