Smile Looking to replace 09 battery?

I want to be proactive and having my GE08 for the past 3.5 years - is it time to change my battery yet?

Everything is fine now ---- but as you know - Murphy Law happens when you least expected.

When I replace my battery, probably I will upgrade to one of the zero ga ground wire that I read somewhere in the forum a while ago.

Thoughts/comments? Thanks.

RE Replacement Battery for 2009

I am thinking the exact same thing, I have had my 2009 Fit Sport w/auto transmission since Jan 31, 2009 and although I have not had any issues with slow cranking I wonder if I should start thinking about it before this winter. In Dayton Ohio so not that bad but it can get down to below zero, but rarely.

I was looking at reviews in the November 2012 issue of Consumer Reports and they have batteries listed by group, and from what I can tell the Fit would fall under group 35, top terminal but I am not sure about that. Anyone have any suggestions? I know that a battery test can be done so I will do that before this fall, but if I need a new one, is there any reason to go for the OEM Honda battery or take a look at some of the high rated batteries in the magazine such as Bosch Premium, EverStart, DieHard, etc.?

Thanks for any info or shared experience,
Mike

In the same boat right now.
Plan on replacing with an Interstate 151, exact replacement.

Not going the group 51, higher CCA route. Just want something that has stock dimensions and is a great battery.

How's the pricing? Is it comparable to the OEM?

As I recall, local shop quoted me around $120.
Not sure what OEM cost...don't care.

It's something you replace every 3-5 years...so I don't really care if it cost even $50 more. I want something reliable and will last w/o worry.
