GE8 Lowering Springs Precautionary
#21
Yeah of course they're stiff. GD3 spring rates are much higher than GE in general.
You should just get GD shocks that actually somewhat match the spring. GE shocks are underdamped for GD spring rates. They can barely handle GE spring rates from what i've seen personally on my own car.
Or you could just get the right springs like I said lol

In that case just get Ground controls with it and have height adjustment.
Is that true? Thats a lot of spring for a GE if so, would be a cheaper alternative to Yellows, though not adjustable, so i'm curious how the shock would handle such a wide range of rates.

NO, 649 is the CAPACITY of springs it can support.
That is NOT the spring rate. Only springs can do that. Having too stiff a strut/shock simply means a bump is like one up and one down, then return to ride. Too soft is that bouncy cheezy cut-springs ride lol
EDIT only the oranges so far.
I wish we could get the Yellows!!!!!!

I am saying, you are saying the Koni STR.T is advertised as being able to damp a 649 lb/in spring max effectively? That's what that usually indicates.
I am saying I don't see how a nonadjustable shock can properly damp that large of a range. There is such thing as too much. Have you ever ridden in an overdamped car? I have. It's terrible.
No, I mean it's terrible. The rebound screws everything, drives like crap, doesn't let the springs spring at all, loads crappy in corners. Just all bad.
