What Acura needs is a Fit
#21
I wouldn't say the "car culture" is dead. There are so many great cars out there for the enthusiast. Yes there is a global shift toward SUV's but there are still fun cars out there. Yes the manual transmission is going away but you will always have those few companies that refuse to give it up (Honda, Subaru, VW). Modern American Muscle cars offer great HP to $ value and if that is not your thing EDM and JDM markets are there too.
Fit

Just ones I can think of at the moment.

Great post golnat. When you line them all up, it's surprising that there's just enough market for the si, veloster, gti, Miata etc to keep OEMs interested. To say nothing of the much larger mustang-Camaro crowd. (anyone else notice the i4 mustang weighs more than an accord now? That's a sports car? I mean I like the thing but ...)
But back on topic. I think unfortunately there is really no market, today, for a practical small car in a luxury car lineup; the ILX has the lowest satisfaction rating out there. Small SUV on the other hand ... What you really mean is, Acura needs a HRV. Potentially one with more hp. Call it the HRX (no wait don't), pop the turbo on it and some slanty lights, start it at 26k$ and market it with a free avocado slicer holder next to the racing helmet door pocket and it'll sell itself...

Back on topic, the 3rd Generation Fits are among the least polluting gas powered cars available. Hybrid and plug in electrics will NOT end pollution. Those external electricity has to be produced by polluting means.
Remember that the difference between communism and socialism is a firing squad.
