But if enough people were involved it would at least communicate to Honda that owners are A: Not happy about this. AND B: Paying attention and aware of the problem.

What I would like to see is a recall for all those affected and/or at least an extension of the warranty covering this issue specifically.
I really like my Fit and haven't yet had a problem. But it's disappointing to me that I have to live with the reality that this problem could arise at nearly any time. And now past warranty it could result in a huge repair bill.
My fit is under 100k. Fuel injectors failed and the entire engine was dirty. Honda will not reinburse me simply because my VIN number is not included in the warranty.

If your check engine light comes on. Go to honda immediately

This is a small dealer in a small town. If they have done a handful of these, how many does that add up to nation-wide ? I am giving some thought to a defective product class action lawsuit. If you have needed this repair, in warranty or out of warranty, is this something you might be interested in. Before speaking with a lawyer, it would be worthwhile having an idea of how widespread this problem is. Also, if anyone is aware of someone with a Honda Pilot with a similar problem, it would be interesting to know what sort of response they have gotten from Honda when looking for some sort of compensation/attempt to make things right.
Thanks,

my

My fuel injectors failed and honda will not reimburse me because my VIN number is not listed in the Bulletin. We need to take a stand.

Small claims, you claim whatever loss has been incurred and the judgement is expedited ... if Honda doesn’t show up they have to pay, so presumably for small amount it’s cheaper to offer you partial payment (corporate lawyers are costly ...). Am I missing something? Feels like one of these two options is tilted in favor of wealthy corporations
Also not a lawyer (studied business law and still study law as a hobby) but yes (disclaimer- this isn't legal advice). Considered the jurisdiction should* be where the car was bought, that's where I would go. Here for small claims courts we can file for just over $350, that gets you a process server, etc., OR you can claim financially disparaged and not pay or have the defendant pay if lost. All depends.

Truthfully though, I understand the frustration with Honda, but it's moreso finance that is ripping people in half now (see AI price models). June/July of 2021 our local Toyota dealer was listed at $160 per hour charged, but I've seen a GM dealer down in Maryland as high as $220/hour- and they STILL couldn't do things right (alignment mind you).

The problem is systematic as all businesses are now at a race to the bottom concerning maximization of profits which causes the inverse of quality to become the outcome. It will not get better unless consumers become more sensible, quit the game, circumvent the game, or push back altogether. It's akin to playing extreme hard mode versus a computer; AI is implemented, designed to extract as much as it can from you, and you're stuck unless you divert. Good luck.

You're absolutely right, the system seems to be geared towards maximizing profits, often at the expense of quality or fairness. It’s tough when you're stuck in the middle, especially with the rising costs in just about everything. Small claims could be a good route to start, but pushing back as consumers might be the only real way to start making some noise. Definitely a tricky balance, but good luck navigating it
