Just Bought an old High Mileage Fit. Have questions
Hi, new here.
Bought an 07 Fit w/ manual transmission with 200,000 miles on it for very cheap a few weeks ago for a beater car.
Former owner claims many of the miles are highway and it drives and runs fine, electric mirrors etc still work.
Only issues I've discovered is with the driver's side door lock, a little noise from under the front of the car when going over speed bumps (worn out suspension or steering components?), and one of the front speakers doesn't work. Other than that it drives and shifts fine.
I'm unsure about its maintenance history, seems to have been well taken care of though.
Any advice from any owners of old high mileage Fits?
Anything in particular should I pay attention to?
And I don't quite understand the maintenance minder stuff --first thing I did was got the oil changed and then I noticed when I pushed the button by the odometer it shows 30% oil life but no other numbers or letters on that screen, so I guess that's good?? No idea what that means or how to reset it?
Has anyone here gotten 250,000+ miles out of theirs'? I'm just curious--I'm used to Toyota quality where getting three and four hundred thousand miles out of a vehicle is doable w/proper maintenance.
So I read the article about the guy that got 700 plus thousand miles out of his Honda Fit and said what the heck and pulled the trigger on this one because it was so cheap.
Thanks
**p.s apologies if I put this post in the wrong section.

Nice Fit! I also have a high-mileage 2008, at 240k. Normal maintenance like any other car, change the oils and coolant. More unique to Honda's is adjusting the valves. If you don't know when it was last done, you should do it.
You need to reset the maintenance minder once you've changed the oil. It calculates oil life based on driving style, number of cold starts, other magical stuff. But it doesn't actually measure the oil quality.
Thanks for the tips, after reading your responses and browsing around I'm feeling a little better about the purchase, would be nice to squeeze 300,000 miles out of this thing.
As for the valve adjustment , I'll look into that. I'm somewhat mechanically inclined but not confident enough to tackle a valve adjustment myself though.
Btw, if anyone knows where I can score some decent Fit hubcaps for a reasonable price, let me know -- I've done some searching around and there's no way I'm gonna spend like $400 - $600 for a set.
I had considered upgrading to some sort of android radio and some sport rims and tires but am skeptical about doing that for a 200,000 mile car. But I'd at least like to put the correct hubcaps on it.
thanks
