Driving Fit at night dangerous

I am getting reflections from oncoming vehicles headlights and various other lights (traffic signals, street lights, etc) which create streaks of multi-colored obstructions to visability through my front windshield. This occurs with a film of dust/dirt on the outside windshield or with fog on the inside windshield. I keep my windshield clean so this happens when there must be a very light film of dust on the windshield. It clears up when I use my windshield wiper fluid.

It's the singer, not the song.

For me, the biggest problem is drivng through the rain. The bad rear visibility is adequate for sunny days, but when raining I have to triple check.

Sounds groovy. Are you listening to 'White Rabbit' when driving, by any chance??

Ditto the others - try cleaning the inside of the windshield too. Here in the not quite Great White North, it's dark now pretty much every time I go out and I haven't had this problem...

If you still have a problem after cleaning the inside windshield and after running the wipers with fluid -- consider what you use to clean the windshield. Some things look "clean" but leave a shine.

Kind of reminds me of my favorite tech support acronym we used to use when logging calls in a tracking system:

If cleaning does not work, replace your wipers, the inserts can be had from Honda for under $15 for the pair.

When you clean your windows with any commercial cleaner of choice inside and out, try and use newspaper but only the section with very little print and lots of whitespace. For some damn reason newspaper does a good job.

Avoid circular motion cleaning.

On the outside use vertical strokes from top to bottom.
On the inside use horizontal strokes left to right.
When dirt or glare or streaks are noticed...study which way they tend to go and then you will have a visible clue to which side of the glass needs more cleaning based on your cleaning motion method.

Nothing I've found beats Invisible Glass for the inside or outside of the windshield. I use microfiber towels which clean it 100% streak-free.

Do NOT use Windex or similar stuff - over time, it will remove the UV coatings of the windshield - it's not meant for auto glass.

Has anybody tried RainX on the windshield yet? I have used it on other cars but sometimes I have noticed a bit of blurring - with the Fit's low headlight pattern and all I am not sure if I want to be the first ;-)

Rain-X is great, but you have to properly buff it down. After application, wait until it dries, then use some microfiber towels to buff it out really well. That's the only thing I've found to really get the streaks out. Well worth the effort, IMO.

For me the best is plain old white vinegar. You mix it with water, apply it on the windshield and dry it with a newspaper.

I asure you there won't be any smell after the windshield is clean, and the windshield should be totally invisible, devoid of any streaks at night
