Spare key needed for 13 Fit Sport

Hi all,

I've done some research online here and am seeing conflicting reports...

I need a spare key for my 13 Fit Sport. Does anyone have any experience with Ebay or Amazon blank keys? The dealer wants $140 for a blank which seems outrageous considering it still needs to be programmed too.

Thanks in advance!

I got a spare for my 2012 Fit from the local Honda dealer. As I recall it was about $130 for the new key and programming.

That's a deal. I bought two key blanks from the 'net, not ebay, and had them cut and programmed by a local locksmith. The keys were about $30/pair and cutting/programming $100 each. He had trouble getting them programmed. Used a special machine to cut them, never seen this machine before. They both work fine now. The local dealer wanted $250 each for factory keys. Sorry can't remember the vendor but it was one that offers programmable keys for many import cars.
