Advice: difficulties going uphill, engine revving
Hi. My 2008 Fit has been having difficulties going uphill. It started with steep inclines on freeway onramps. If I tried to accelerate quickly, moving from 3rd, 4th, 5th gear, the engine would rev and I would need to ascend the incline at a slower speed. Then, also on hills, in cruise control, it started to fall out of cruise control. Well, falling out of cruise control is happening a lot now, with slight inclines. And, most alarming, ascending hills in fifth gear is nearly impossible. I have to go into fourth, because of the revving in fifth, and, of course, slow down.

To clarify, is the engine revving when you're in gear or when you have the clutch engaged and are shifting between gears?
Revving while in gear:
I'm going to assume you've been driving a manual for a while so you're not attempting to climb too steep a hill in a high gear.
If your car previously climbed a given hill in, for example, 5th gear but now the engine is revving while the car slows down, that suggests that your clutch is slipping.
How long have you had the car? How many miles out of the 219K? Has the clutch been replaced?
Revving with clutch engaged:
I'm not sure about the first generation Fit, but at least the newer manual transmission Fits have a clutch delay valve that keeps the engine revved up for a short time (I believe for emissions) when you push in the clutch while shifting gears. If you're used to other cars where the engine would immediately lose rpms, this could feel like the engine was revving up. Some Fit drivers hate this and others never notice. There are many posts here about the clutch delay valve.

Thank you, Drew. The revving is when the gear is engaged, right at the beginning of the engagement. Well, that was initially. Now, it's revving when I'm in 5th and begin to ascend.
I've had it for 6 years, since 2018, when it had 123 k miles. No, I don't the believe the clutch as been replaced.

what if you drive a automatic? mine has the same problem, just got it and im trying to make it dive like its brand new
You'll have to give more information about what is happening and about your car - age, mileage, maintenance history, etc.
It could be as simple as the torque converter lock-up going unlocked (totally normal), which will bump up the RPMs a bit.
Or, if you have a bunch of miles and no maintenance, it could be as serious as the A/T about to leave this world.

Its a 09 vtec 279k miles and im unsure about maintenance dont have any records. I did just do a oil change, I just got it and it has other problem like the wipers not working and the fog lights but other than that idk what could be causing the problem im really hoping I dont have to tear the motor down as I do need it as a daily. And idk anything about the the car mechanicly
You still need to describe exactly what is happening -- when, how, what, etc. -- to determine if it's normal or abnormal for a Fit.
More generally, if you don't know the maintenance history in a car with 279K miles you have to assume that everything needs to be done. (Just FYI, buying a car with nearly 300K miles and no maintenance history to use as a daily driver is like withdrawing your savings and heading to Vegas because you need money. It might work out for you but there's a better chance you're going to lose.)
If you confirm that your A/T is acting abnormally step 1 is to make sure the ATF level is correct. Once you know that, I would change the ATF as soon as possible. If you want to be thorough think about changing the inline ATF filter and do a full fluid change using the procedure outlined here:

Different folks will tell you to stick with the Honda-recommended DW-1 or grab whatever "DW-1 compatible" ATF is cheapest. I use DW-1 but it's safe to say that any (compatible) ATF is going to be better than potentially old/contaminated fluid.
Note that doing this work may or may not help your symptoms, but until you know that there's good/clean ATF in the system, at the proper level, you can't rule that out as being the problem.
