a/c problems

Do you think that the fit might have some sort of sensor in the evaporator that senses freeze up and shuts the fan off along with the compressor?

No.

It's just the temp sensor in there. The freezing will happen first at the outer edges of the evaporator and move towards the middle due to less airspeed at the edges; since the sensor is in the middle, only that tiny section has to remain open and warm up to kick it back on again even though the rest of the thing still looks like frosty the snowman.

I do believe the only other sensor is the master pressure sensor that reads if there's enough refrigerant in the system to safely turn on. I haven't found any more as of yet. The TXV isn't electronic so there aren't a whole lot more places to hide stuff.

BTW the compressor and condensor fan are controlled by the same circuit. When one is on, the other will be on as well. No exceptions.

This is a different problem. My air conditioning button is stuck in and stays on unless fan is off. Anyone else have this problem? I have to get this fixed soon and was wondering if any DIY had experience with this problem.
