Mileage reports: Automatic transmission (5AT)
last 4 fills have been 26.7-29.1 mpg. this next one is looking to be 25mpg or less. which is on par w/ my 1988 M3. which is terrible for a modern car that is sooo slow.
i'm glad my wife likes the car, because this is really pissing me off. i did, once, achieve 40+ mpg in this car, but hazardous weather forced a very slow interstate drive that would be totally unsafe in normal conditions.

So here's the mpg I was getting (sri, weaponr street header, megan exhaust, dino oil, 87 oct - BTW I was getting LOWER mpg than stated BEFORE these mods):
Under 3.5K rpm per shift, under 30 TPS on the scanguage at all times, 70mph on highway = 28-29 mpg
4-6k rpm per shift, who knows how much TPS w/ blitz TC, 70-80 mph highway = 26-27 mpg
If anything, I've learned that there's nothing I can do with my car to improve mpg. 1-2 mpg increase for driving like my mother in law isn't a fair tradeoff. I don't know if it's something wrong with my car personally (Honda won't check unless there's a ecu code), but I've given up on MPG with this car and am just enjoying it as I want.
Who knows, maybe when I switch my stock wheels to something lighter there will be a slight increase - seem that shaving off weight is the way to go at the moment. Changing driving habits drastically hasn't changed MPG enough to make it worth it.

Actually, I live in L.A so I really don't worry about Europe , in terms of MPG (it is diferent ball game).
But in my case it is true that I drive 98% city ,and all my trips are 5 miles away. I drive "happy " not crazy,and I should get a lot better MPG.
For a reazon of better financing I could get the Accord for JUST few more dollars in the payment. 2% Accord and 6% on my Fit. I'm sure the Accord gives even or maybe better mileage.
So...I'm like those men that are crazy in love with the wrong women.
I'm planning to go to a far trip and leave the CR-V in home, so I will get the chance to see the 40 MPG that a lot talk about.

I've been averaging 37.9 (25% city/ 75% Hwy). I don't understand why some of you have such a lower average. That's crazy. Do you sit at a lot of redlights or warm the car up long? This car keeps averaging while sitting and idling, if you haven't noticed. The other cars I have had only averaged the mpg while I was moving. This is only if your using the guage to get your mpg. If your calculating the miles at fill up, then I don't know.
I took my 09 5auto from Fresno, Ca to LA, Ca (219 mi per google) and only took 6 gallons. This is taking in consideration flat highway driving, but also a steep climb over the grapevine. The math comes out to be 36.5 mpg! how fun only spent 25 bucks for the whole trip!

It's a good thing I love the car for other reasons, or I'd be bailing.
Now it's an average of 17.178km/l or 40.41mpg (US)

That CVT tranny seems to get some killer mileage. It is like the old HX civic's. I finally got over 36mpg on a full tank of gas with mixed driving. That is killer. I have an 08 fit sport with 21k on the odo and normally get 32-33, but the last tank came up 36.6mpg, on Costco Gas. I really wish i had a scangaugeII but that just made my day. The car is getting more efficient as it is breaking in.

first few tanks I got 28. mph driving 80-85mph 90 miles a day 95% interstate, (jack rabbit starts, jamming brakes...lol). I had to fill up beginning and once during mid week to make it to work and back . I felt that was pretty crappy for this car (oh and it is) so I started investigating hypermiling, and experimenting. I consider myself a moderate hypermiler.
After some pretty intense (more like patience) training (driving slow is hard to do after years of left laning it) I managed a tank around 38 mph for a couple of week.
This week I managed my best so far 42.1mpg 362 miles on 8.6 gallons of gas I could of easily pushed another 50 out of that tank as the light hadn't come on (I hate filling up on a Friday end of day so I didn't attempt it).
I'm ordering a scanguage as my goal is to push 450 miles out of a tank (one weeks worth of driving back and forth from work) I know I can get there as I have not perfected all my tricks yet.
Also I'm starting a website devoted to hypermiling the Honda fit and my adventures …coming soon.

Well, my 45 MPG report in the highway was using the old tecnique of filling the tank before and after and calculate the MPG.
Using my scangauge I average 29 to 30 MPG in the city and 39 MPG in the Highway at 65 MPH.

I finally cracked the 50MPG mark on my last trip to work which is 174 miles (90% highway). I was at 51.3 but after I went through some small towns on my drive it dropped down to 50.6 for the trip. I have missed it at least half a dozen times now at 49.8, 49.7, 49.5 etc, etc. I have been getting between 46 and 48 on the highway after I got past 5K miles and it was broken in some what. I have almost 14K on it now and seem to be getting higher averages. I did notice a bit of a increase after my first oil change at 10K (oil life still read 30%) but I figured that was long enough.
How fast (or slow) you you all driving to get high milage? How far on a tank of gas? If the planets align just right I can go 430 miles on a tank. I drive 75 on the highway and get 33.4 mpg. About 32 around town. I know 75 is not the speed to run for high milage but that is what I drive. What other techniques are you also doing? Max inflated tires? Something else?

460 kilometers on the first tank of gas, on an auto LX,... but that was when the gas light came on and I didn't want to chance running out as I was going out of town. I hear we can get another 50 miles after the gas light comes on...can others confirm this?

. I use my cruse for most of the trip, there's not too many hills either. As for speed I only go 60 since I got yanked by the SP going 61 in a 55. Yes 61 in a 55, fine was 20.00 but the court costs were 100.00. So 6 over cost me 120.00. The thing I have noticed about the fit is the wind plays a huge role (other than speed) when it pertains to mileage. In a stiff head wind 20-30mph I can usually only get about 43mpg. The day I broke 50 there was no wind what so ever and it was great. Those days a few and far between which is why I typically average in the high 40's.

I find I get another 5+ litres after the light comes on in my '07 LX. So if you're on the highway and averaging 5l/100km then it's good for another 100km, or if you're in the city stop-and-go averaging 10l/100km it's good for another 50km. But 50 miles (~80km) if probably a good all round estimate.
Just look up your gas tank size (41 litres on '07-'08s) and subtract the amount you put in when you fill to when it clicks off, and you'll know how much fuel you have left. I'd figure on leaving a few litres in the tank.
