What to watch for when picking up my fit?

Hello all,
This is my very first post here in fitfreak (YAY!).
I should be picking up my MR fit sport MT in the next few days. I'd like to know if there is anything (on the car itself) I should pay attention to before I leave the dealership. Or I could just be paranoid here....???

Thanks for everyone's help.

Picking Up My Fit

Welcome and congrads on your new Fit - I just got my MR Sport A/T a little over a week ago and I just love it. I had instructed the dealership to not drill holes in the body kit to attach a front plate (our state doesn't require them), no dealership logo on the back. Some do not want the dealership to wash their cars because they may make swirl marks. I do have to say Lester Raines Honda washed my car and did a beautiful job. Make sure everything is unwrapped and they go over the different books that come with the car. Honda will call you a few days after your purchase to see how your experience was. Make sure to tell them you are disappointed in the Fit carpet and with any luck we can get them to change this for future owners. I would recommend telling your salesman that you want to make sure they go over each function of the car so you can give them a good review to Honda. Hope this helps - maybe someone else can add more.

Post pictures when you can!

Thumbs up What he said.

What SHE said, I mean.

Cat is right. Just look it over for yourself, with your salesperson. If you don't have to have a front tag, let the dealership know ahead of time that you don't want any holes in the front bumper.

Welcome aboard! Hope your car is as much fun for you as mine is for me. It will be, too. Honda don't make no lemons, Chrysler and GM take care of that quota!

Check for any dents or dings, the body is easily dented. Look at it from different angles. Check that everything is there, antenna, tow loop, lug wrench, spare. Pin stripping (is it straight, complete, the same all around).
Paint (everything about it, peeling?, spots?, specks?). Windshield (spots that wont come off).

Even if you don't need the front plate bracket get it anyway you paid for it (no hole or plugged hole in the middle of the front bumper).

Basically check anything and everything this is your only chance to prove that any issue is not something you did after taking delivery.

It's not a question of being paranoid it's just a matter of using your head instead of loosing it. After all it's your money you're laying out for it in the end.

And welcome and congrats.
