Plan to buy Nose Mask / Bra - Difference in USA and Canadian model?

Hey everyone

I live in Canada, and on my first road trip I got several stone chips on my brand new Fit! After looking at some solutions I decided:

-painters tape all along the hood - ugly and time consuming to apply
-clear films - too expensive

I decided the bra/nose ask for $100 is a good deal. I woudln't keep it on permanently (thus avoiding unevenly fading paint), just for road trips.

However the damn masks costs $245 plus tax here in Canada. Our dollar is almost on par with the US and I can find it for $100USD (or at worst, $145 from a dealership). I'd like to get it on my trip to Minneapolis next week, couple questions:

1. Any feedback/review on the nose mask? Did some searching around, it seemed a lot of people preferred the films.

2. Would the nose maks fit on both the USA base and Canadian base? Are ours the same across North America?

Appreciate any feedback

Can't comment on the fitting issue but I have run a bra on my 04 Camry and now on my Fit. I like the protection I get from the bra, better tan 3m film IMHO. BUT you MUST take time to remove and clean the bra everytime you wash the car. If you don't you just rinse all the dirt down in the bra between the apint and bra and then it grinds away paint. You need to actually scrub the back of the bra, or sometimes I just use an air compressor and blow it off. Keep the bra clean and 2 or 3 coats of wax on the car where the bra sits and you will be very happy with tthe results. Also if the bra gets wet like when driving and it starts to rain just be sure to pull it off and let everything dry. If you leave it on to dry it will cause paint issues.

3000 miles and not ONE chip yet,,,knock on wood

PS the wrinkles are there cuz this is the first time I put it on outta the box,,,,they have disapeared after being on for awhile

I bought the bra for my Fit a few weeks after i bought the car..I put it on and relized that with the Fit the hood is on such a downward slant that the whole hood can be rock chiped not just the part covered by the bra. I then took the bra back..As of now the fit has somwhere around 2800 miles and i have 2 very minor, barely not noticable by the human eye rock chips on my Fit. One is high on the hood, so high that the bra would be inaffective to prevent it, and the other one is on my passenger side mirror.

Xanatos, it's your lucky day. Looks like vlam has one up for grabs here in Calgary. Shipping wouldn't be too bad I don't think. Check it out:

Thanks for the replies. Does anyone know if the US and Canadian models should be identical on the front though?

Yeah I guess part of the problem with the Fit is the hood slants a lot, so its more vulnerable for sure.

My last road trip (~2500km) I got severl minor chips, but they were all in the area where a car bra would stay.

I might try a hybrid approach, bar, and then add some masking tape above it. The hood is easy to tape, whereas the bumper/lower hood would be tricky.

yes the Fit bra is terrible and letting all kinds of stuff in. I gave up with the hood part first, and then I finally removed the bottom part for good. The scratching from the bra is worse than the road damage. The part around the headlights won't stay tucked in anymore on mine... I gave up

Sport and base bras are different.
