wish me luck!

Well, today I test drove a Fit base with MT and I loved it! I talked to the dealer and got a fair amount for my trade in and $500 off for an 07' (since it was the end of the month)
The only thing is they only had a red in stock (I can't stand red). They are trying to locate a blue, silver(gray) or black one for me next week.
I am pretty excited! Finally something to replace my 91' Civic H/B and my 05' Dodge Ram (need I say more $GAS$)

I think I decided that a red Fit is better than no Fit, so If they can't locate a different color I may just take the red one!

wish me luck on my quest for a non-red Fit!

Awesome man, hope it all works out for you! Pretty awesome deal your getting, 500 off MSRP is sweet! Definetly beats my OVER MSRP purchase 2 months ago, but the Fit is well worth it! Keep us updated on your Fit search!

I say stick with your color choices! Believe me, if they want a sale, they WILL locate that color for you! :] I was on the lucky side! My cousin found a place that would sell me my VBP Fit at $500 under MSRP. Some other place tried to sell me a red one for the same price and told me that was the only one they had and wouldn't find a blue one if i tried. I liked red, but wanted a blue. :] Believe me, if they don't have it, someone else will! I just lucked out and was able to pick mine up on the spot, no waiting period! :]

GOOD LUCk! :]

Congrads! Lucky you got some off the O7. Our local Honda dealership will still not discount the 07's at all. As for the Milano Red - it was not my first choice but it became available when the VBP was a no show! I thought it looked sweet and once I threw on the tint and the goodies - I was just happy to have my Fit - at last. If you really don't like red though I would wait and I bet they will find what you really want. However if push comes to shove the MR is like nothing else on the road as far as color, shine and pop goes!

Thank you for all the replies. I bought a red used Ford f150 six years ago and it took me about a month to convince myself that I liked the red enough to buy it. I finally bought it and it's ok, but I always planned to repaint it (that's what I keep telling myself anyway)

I'm also not a big fan of the beige interior. If it came with all black, I would probably take the red. The combo of red and tan. I am not a fan! I have a pic as my desktop I found on here with a black hood, and that little bit makes it look better in my mind. Since I have black paint and am pretty handy with a spray gun , I may be forced to paint the hood (and maybe the hatch) black.

As mentioned, if push comes to shove, I will take the red. They also had a black sport with MT that I may upgrade to. We will see.

Thanks again,
t

Well after having the week off and checking out the dealer stock, I decided to go a different route. They had a black Sport MT on the lot so I told them I would take that one off of their hands. I still got the $500 off!
I will not be picking it up til' Wednesday or Thursday.
Woot!
I didn't want to miss the opportunity to get an 07' and I like how aggressive the black looks. I will just have to force myself to keep it clean!

I am sure you have all seen a stock black sport, but dang it, I am gonna post pictures anyway!!

Congrads!!!! The first time I saw the Nighthawk Black in the show room I thought that is one good looking car. There is something about a black car that is so classy. Please post pictures when you get your car.

Well I finally picked up my Fit on Friday night. I love the car so far!

I did get swindled out of $200 from the salesman though, so that is leaving a bad taste in my mouth. Of course I noticed it after I got home and his response today was (to my wife) " I told him it was only $300 off of the sport and $500 off of the base" Which was a blatant lie! He may have thought he told me but the fact remains that I was always led to believe that I was getting the $500 off either model! (see above post)
Oh well, I did manage to take my Pioneer CD player out of my trade in and put the stock radio back in, so I guess I will sell that to get my $200 back.

I am mad at myself for actually trusting a guy for one thing. I didn't check the "sticker" before I signed the paperwork (in was in the glove box, out of sight out of mind which leads me to believe it was deliberate). It sounded right (all of the other paperwork I had was for the base model) so I trusted he was giving me what he said he would! Instead he cost me $200! I probably would have still taken the car, but the fact that he told my wife he told me it was $300 off, is what really bothers me!

Ok I am done ranting! Pics tomorrow!

I can share a story that can relate to this.

Red was my second worse choice. The worst to me was orange. And same situation, red was only available sport manual. I panicked, i amost bailed during out signing papers when I settled for "you don't always get what you want in life".

Anyway I got used to the red car, in fact I'm so glad I got the red. I love red so much, I think any future car I get would be red. The reason red is good is it's the most visible color. If you always forget where to park like me, having a red car helps
