Car Security System?

Alright, I'm shopping around for a security system for my car. I'm not looking to spend big money but just need some simple stuff to keep my car from being stolen. I'm interested in a kill switch. I don't care about autostart or those extra features. I really don't know much about security systems so hopefully you guys can enlighten me.

Since the car has a transponder key a killswitch is useless. A 1 way alarm system is virtually useless since most people do not even look if car alarm siren is going off. The only real security is a 2 way alarm system with alot of range as as a Compustar 2W900FM or a Clifford G5. Both have about a mile of range so if anything happens to your car. Your are informed by the pager remote control.

What is a transponder key? I was thinking there was some security system that comes with a remote that you can activate some kind of kill switch to the car instead of having an actual kill switch hidden somewhere. Haha, like I said, I have no clue about security systems.

The key has a special chip in it that the computer of the car needs to read otherwise the car can't be started. You can't bypass that so it's impossible to hotwire the car.

Our Fits aren't being stolen yet like other Hondas have been historically (Civic, Accord) *knock on wood* -because this is the first year the model has been in the U.S. of course. However, that may change in a few years..
