I've had a love / hate relationship with the dealer since day one. I do my own mechanical work and they knew I wasn't going to pay their crazy hourly rates for servicing. Now I'm out of warranty so they will only see me for the odd part.

I'm lucky that way. I know most people take for granted what the dealership tells them, and often it's B.S.

Clutches are so incredibly easy to change. Sorry you spent that much money on it. You could have bought an upgraded clutch, replaced it yourself, and saved over 1000 bucks.

My clutch went to

Recently as I was driving my 2008 FIT sport home on the highway, the car stopped accelerating when I depressed the gas. I made an appointment with the dealer since I only have 26,000 miles on the car and I am still under the warranty, they told me it was going to be nearly three weeks until they could look at it OUCH. After looking at the car they told me it was a clutch issue and that they would have to take it apart to figure out if it would be covered by warranty. I am now waiting another few days before they can even look at my car again.

Does it make sense that my clutch would go because of ware after only 26K? I drive it mostly in the city, but treat the car fairly nice. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No need to get worried people, clutches should last much longer than 32k.
