body moulding

I am looking to buy a fit and a local dealer has a sport model coming in a couple weeks. I like everything about the sport except the body/side mouldings. I'm in Vermont these would probobly just get torn off in snow drifts anyway.
Are these bolted on? or are they moulded to the body. Has anyone taken these off?
Thanks

Do you mean the body kit? They do come off, but i think it will look unfinished and ragged with them off, im not sure about that though..

If you can find a base they dont have a body kit and are 1000$ less then the Sport!

If you take them off, the car just looks rough and unfinished - you might consider waiting for the base Fit but of course you don't get all the cool extra's like the paddle shifters, better radio/CD player, cruise control, fog
lights, bigger tires, keyless entry and security system - did I leave anything out?

i drove my fit through many snow drifts last year and had no problem.

just be cautious (as you should be anyways) and i think you'll be fine.

Thanks for the info.!!

Yeah, I guess that would be a dumb idea. Local dealer has a tidewater blue base in today. I'm wondering if the color is too "Girly"??..

I've removed the molding on the front lip since I keep bottoming out. and there are holes that are part of the bumper. They are factory made, and they are somewhat noticeable. But at night, or any other time of the day, people don't seem to notice them at all.

I may remove the other pieces when I get the car lowered, but at the moment, the front is required, my brother keeps hitting it.

I wouldnt say that color is too girly, throw some black rims on there and it would look sick! Good luck!

i thought the '08 sports came in tidewater, it was the lunar mist that was deprived of the sports model last year.

Wink Woah!

O.K. so I took the tidewater blue base for a test drive at the dealer since I haven't done so yet. Dealer hands me the keys. I was sold on the Fit in less than one mile. Lotsa room, (I'm 6'2") descent stereo, shfts like a dream. At a stoplight I had a "Let's see what this baby can do" inclination for the quarter mile before the next light. Light turns green and I, not chirped, but SMOKED the front tires before shifting to second. Holy cow!. Sportiness AND great gas milage???
Dealer has a sport coming in two weeks. I'm ready.

The aerosol touch-up paint works MUCH better Jason. Those little bottles of touch-up paint aren't worth the money you pay for them. I got the spray can for around $20.00, cut a stencil just slightly larger than my scratch, gave it a quick spray, and it's barely noticeable.
