No, you do not have to use a key.

You get a Key fob, it goes in your pocket, it senses you near the car, you push the button on the cars door handle and it unlocks, you then get in and push the start button with the brake pedal pressed and the car start. Same with turning the engine off. Thats how the new ones are, i absolutly love the feature.

the signal between the smart key and the car is what disrupts peoples pacemakers "thanks for the correction" i still feel its a gimmick if its standard great but if i gotta pay for it gimme a regular key im not that lazy. thats why the usa has so many fat asses. now we are to lazy to use a key to start our cars gimme a break. tell me when they invent a toilet bowl that with automatic ass wiping

its about as un-necessary as a sixth finger, just use the key and forget the gimmick.

Bullshit with the pacemaker interfering. The smart keys use the same transmitter signals as your average car alarm remote. Its just more consistent with rolling codes.
