Lightbulb Midnight Fit DEAL!

Me and my wife just got back 1200am from the dealer and ended up getting an 08 black manual fit sports for 15900. Financed for 5.99% for 60mos with 2k down through the dealer. Is this a good deal or no? After seeing the car covered with plastic inside/out and fresh from the truck with 4miles there was no turning back. We signed all the paperworks and we are supposed to pick up a detailed black sports fit later at 1200pm.

I'm excited and all but I just smell something fishy about the dealer. I don't know why but maybe just because this is our first new car purchase and I'm just being paranoid of getting taken by the dealer. I didn't fell for the extended warranty/glass etching/gap but got pushed into zaktek crap for 299 that I can get the car detailed with "special" paint protection every 6mos for 3 years. But I managed to get a supposedly free floormat, tint and the plastic door "protector".

So I'm picking up the car with the 2k cash down tomorrow. Anything that should I be concerned when finalizing the deal tomorrow? Stuff that I need to verify about the contract? I think I should just try to sleep now. lol

There was another thread similar to this, stating make sure when you get there you are happy with the car, i.e. test the lights to make sure they work ,radio, check the outside for abrasions and such, make sure everything is perfect to your standards,.... and welcome to the site

Congrtaz! Your getting a pretty nice deal!

As far as inspection goes, i did a 30min walk around inside and out tyring to fing the smallest of flaws. If you find them there its easier then having to go back to the dealer at a later time. Good luck!

Welcome to FitFreak!

indeed! i was at the dealership for 10 hours until we sealed the deal. when they tried to pressure me to seal the deal, i would do another walk to the car, and check everything! i would point out very minor flaws, even telling them that i would only buy the car if they got me a hello kitty cd visor. i pointed out everything, i just wish i had them swap the lights for the black ones, would have saved me the evening i spent painting them.

Thanks for the tips guys. Firebat666 what do you mean by OTD? Is that the total cost (inlc. taxes/tities or other hidden dealer fees) that will be financed? Mine was financed for 16170 after the 2k down. Total sale price after 5yrs 20799.
Is that about right?

Congrads! Sounds like a pretty good deal each dealer is on their own when it comes to making the deal. Definitely with the Fit they are not willing to go down at all, at least not at our local Honda dealership.

Alright got the car and so far loving every minute of it. I'd post some pics but there isn't much to see. I'll post some when I get tires for my 16" enkei RPF1 that I was going to put in my old hatch.

One thing that I just noticed later in the day is that the plastic trimming that is being covered by the back passenger seatbelts looked like water leaked in it and dried up. I think I'll be making a trip back to the dealer.

alright while trying to rub the dried water spot I realized that the person who did the tint job did a half assed job and didn't cleaned up his mess. At least I know water is not leaking in

I paid $15,600 for my '08 SSM Sport Auto with the all-season floormats, so you paid a little more than i did but you got a way better deal on your financing.

That's a hella good deal. I payed just a little over $20K out the door after taxes, finace, etc etc etc for a PRE-OWNED Fit. Now I got owned on that one but I at least got what I want.
You didn't get the best deal in the world but most likely better deal than most. Dealers always try to add big mark ups on the Fit. Especially the sport.

Yeah just an advice for people wanting to buy one soon, just make sure you know the real msrp of the car and try to haggle with the saleman to get it for msrp or lower and or start talking about extra accessories like floor mats and such. Then when signing the agreed price look out for extra stuff that they're adding like the freaking zaktek paint protection prog or whatever optional addons they want you to get just to inflate the total price. If they won't budge say I'll deal with the next dealer, which I should have done but it was getting late that night and didn't know better at that time. Also found this article link from this forum about this car salesman confession it's lengthy but it should help you dealing with car salesman.
