Fit wise, today i only had a chance to move it out of the way to pull out my G. i parked it down the street so that i could get a 3rd person's view. dont mean to brag, but the swifts + the enkei's really make the car look 'sharp.' very nice. liking the new look a lot!
i showed it off to my buddies and they were like 'damn, ken!!'
i guess the best part is that the mods are subtle enough that it might even appear factory finish...just a sportier version of the FitSport or something. hahahaha.
tomorrow i need to take the 09 GE to the dealer to get the 30K done. too lazy to do the work right now...actually im really tight on time.

Mr. Kenchan -- so you kind of follow the "mod all-at-once" approach? For me, I like to do one thing at a time to prolong the "gee, this car feels better" feeling.
On a personal note -- the "other place" is just not the same without your input. Have you completely abandoned it?

mr.onzedge- usually when i buy these kinds of cars i do like to mod it to make it 'mine' quickly. it's been one week since i took delivery and i FINALLY feel like i bought the car i wanted.
wish honda would just sell these cars in the RS trim here with everything included from the factory.
the other place... ive not deleted my profile and pictures and threads i made so i have not completely abandoned it. i just haven't visited there since the rude post by one of the mods there. and allowing some members to keep posting that should be permanently banned. place turned me off.
i do miss you guys so please invite them here if you'd like. basically my blog is about cars including Fits.
OH AND WE REP HERE TOO!

hahahaha. for the Z, i haven't done much lately after getting a new set of wheels earlier this summer and a new biggie type-r shift knob from TWM. i still have my WEDS wheels and im thinking about getting new tires wrapped next season. currently it's running Continental DW's and they aren't bad, just not great. i'd like to have a tad more road feedback.
the TWM shift knob is fantastic.
i run the regular type-r knob by TWM on my G. it's been great the last 7yrs with that knob. my G turned 8 the other day and now into her 9th year. still luv the car like the day i brought her home 8 yrs ago. i pulled her out for a nice drive today.
i plan to keep her for another 2yrs and probably replace with a new Fiat500 Abarth. i hope by then fiat has all the bugs worked out.i want something small next time around so that i can make room to put my kids bicycles and my future bike in the garage along with my Z. i also want to keep the wheel sets for my cars in the garage. right now there are 4 stacks in the basement taking up room.
and i know for sure i will be getting more sets of wheels in the future.hi ms.blackcherry
great to hear you got new drop-in's.
those are great. i use them in my Z as well.
i shall log in later on in the week to see what AK has to say. AK's been real nice to me from the get go.
thanks, mr.onzedge!
the nissan dealer that blew off my offer for that juke i test drove has been calling me to come back.
hahaha, too late! stupid him, i told him while i was there to tell his manager that my offer was final and will walk out if he doesn't take it right then and there. i gave him plenty of reasons why his boss should take my offer and i urged him to get his manager to sit in while we worked out the price. they must've thought i would come back or something. a big LOL

I agree on road feedback-my hubby not crazy about Z ride-i love it-no road feedback makes me carsick, AND i like to be driver-that way we go where i please! Lol

Re:filters. Alcheng said the stickers were still w them...should i discreetly place them on Z? What is protocol?! Still a newb and a lifelong geek-my husband is cool factor in our union!

hahaha, ms.blackcherry.yah, i definitely like car feedback so i dont like mushy ride. firm ride is okay, jarring im too old.
i dont use stickers on my G or Z, so i would slap that thing onto your workbench or tool case.
i do like to put stickers on my work bench.

so special thanks to Black3sr again for the dome light wiring. i found the tread and so didnt have to take apart my 09 GE to find the wires i used for the ignition key.

soldered up my #74 led's with some leads as so...

and mounted it onto the steering column with 3M mounting tape and e-tape on top.
i made a light guide with aluminum tape.

no issue with fitting the steering column cover back on, plenty of clearance inside.
will snap picts down the road in the dark.

hummmm... does anyone know if the Rota R-Spec 16x7 supports TPMS?
i might source those as winter wheels. i really dont like the 12's stock wheels.
hahaha.

if i can find 16x7 ET45's that i can run tpms, then yah that would be serious consideration.
i want to run 205/50/16 WS60's as snows.

PS- I have a set of those on now on my GD. Someone else on here had a set on their Sensation Blue Pearl GE (can't remember screen name).
I could take a few pictures (for another thread so I don't thread jack) if anyone is interested. I have 2 sets of TPMS compatible wheels laying around and one set has the sensors installed still... think there is an OEM Honda sensor laying out at work I can take shots of too.

i usually get my wheels and tires from tirerack so that's not a problem, but i need to first get the tpms out of the stock wheels to put in the new wheels. ideally i would first get this done at my local tireshop where they have a touchless mounter to get the tires and tpms off.
im going to be using the tires on my 09 GE's stock wheels as they are now about 1/2 toast.
then i would probably source just the wheels and take them along with the tpms to tirerack to get new snows mounted.
yah, i think they would work, but i need to make sure.
ahhh, that's good info hootie. i dont feel like going to the dealer to get the tpms reprogrammed so im going to pull mine off the stock 12 wheels and just use that. thanks for the offer though!

^^ Ditto!

Good chance they would work. Really it is a matter of the TPMS senor's exterior cap being able to seat evenly in the area designed for the valve stem. Whether or not the wheel has the recessed in its barrel doesn't have an affect on how the sensor is mounted.

hope you enjoyed your drive in the Z this am. today im getting service done on the other Fit which my wife uses mainly. getting major service done as it's coming up 4yrs and wanted to get new brake pads installed, new brake fluid, new coolant, new tranny fluid, etc. we want to keep the car for another 4-5yrs, so this is the mid-point.
it's probably going to cost me like $750-800 but i dont care. i dont have time to do it right now in my garage. i rather spend that time working on my other cars.

so i figured out why i keep bumping my left knee on the 09 GE and not in my 12 GE. if you go back like 50pgs or so (hahahaha) you'll find one of my posts swearing up a storm when i slammed the Fit's door into my knee in pain.
it has to do with the pedal position. i tend to relax my left leg completely while driving AT cars so my knee kinda rests on the driver side door handle. when i drive my '12 (same door panel, same dead pedal) but my seating position is different and my left foot is always standing-by to depress the clutch pedal...so my knee does not rest on the door handle. huge difference.
the MT GE (at least to me) is a completely different car vs my AT GE. MT makes it hell of a lot more fun to drive. the AT isn't bad for normal folks that just want the Fit for transportation A to B. it's a smooth shifting tranny and as long as i dont push the car, it drives well. i just need to remind myself to go SLOOOW. other wise take the MT GE.

they're durable wheels. i had them for like a year and no issue when i had my GD.
but now that i think about it, i had 15x7's on my GD... and these you show are 16x7, so they might actually look good on my GE, thanks!
i will search around some more and if i can't find something i suppose i will keep this as one of my candidates to keep things simple.
im finding that the RSpec rota's are considerable more $$ than their Boost wheels. i dont feel like spending $699+ shipping on rota's honestly...
