the snap-on cargo organizer i got is model number: 870116

it has velcro on the bottom so no sliding around. compact enough that i can set it facing forward/aft without folding down the seats.
i carried home 2 gallons of washer fluid the other day, fit perfectly with room to spare. no bottles rolling around, 2 dividers are adjustable.

also comes with a removable shoulder strap just in case you're stranded or something you can use that as your carrying bag.

great quality. i like how it's bright red so that it's easy to see at night.

fikken cold again...well, for me at least. -5F
i know folks up real north are like -50F. wat, -5F lol, that's like t-shirt and no pants weather. please wear pants.

anyway, going to stay inside. looks like more snow on the way this week. trying to keep my '12 as clean as possible by not driving it since the wash a few days ago.

had a little bit of freezing rain yesterday. took the 09 out for errands. with ws60's no issue.

i cant remember if i used the add-a-circuit on the powersocket fuse (10A max) or another fuse. and it being like -6F today, didnt feel like going out there... plus my car is a dirty hunk of salt. eeww... dont want to touch it. lol the air pump recommends 15A minimum.

i also have alligator clamps to 12v female socket cord, so i might just use that instead during emergencies. never know if it's raining... dont want to keep my door open. if i decide to go this route, will install an inline 20A fuse.

I got the same exact air pump... it was on sale for like 15 or 20 at target, it came with the crappy slime which I threw out, and I keep my pressure gauges & tire plugs in the carrying bag (case).

Don't bother with all the extra clamps, etc.. the extention on the pump is long, and slim enough to run through either front door & still close the door if it's raining... I've been using that pretty much monthly since before I even got the Fit (it was in my last car for about a year also) with no problems... it doesn't draw that much power.

hey there, fitstir - yah, the issue is that i cant remember if i put the add-a-circuit (10A max) on the power socket fuse or another switched fuse. and with the snow and cold temps outside, i dont feel like looking in there right now to verify which fuse i used especially since i dont need to use the pump right now, and the 12v socket box keeps everything nice and tight in that side compartment in the trunk.

next spring i will check which fuse i used and move the add-a-circuit to another switched fuse as needed.

09 started up fine this morning after going through -7F last night, was still -4F this am.

i need to check the water levels this Spring cause the cranking was pretty slow with all accessories turned off. explained to wife she only gets one try to start the car below 0F with its weaker battery now. dont let go of the key even if the car doesn't turn over in 5-6sec...just let it keep cranking until it starts, otherwise the battery will be too weak for re-attempt unless temps rise.

been a crazy cold couple of days, finally reaching above 0F today. was at -20F on monday, the day's high was only -16F in my area. i know it's probably nothing in canada and probably siberia, but mang.... that was cold. lol

my '12 started up no problem though. didnt even try the 09 cause i didnt want to waste cca. suppose to be a fairly mild rest of the week with highs of 38F or something on the weekend. hope to wash the cars this weekend.

yah, that dynamic stability control crap on my '12 nearly killed me this am when the car would not accelerate fast enough due to snow on the ground while pulling out into the street. wtf. i hate this crap. i immediately turned it off, let the tires bite into the snow with some wheel spin, and recovered without incident.

there needs to be a way to permanently disable this shitty feature.

Ahahahaha... I know the feeling... for those of us who learned to drive long ago, especially in snow, know how to control the car in those situations... you sometimes have to have a controlled slip/wheel spin to have control... https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...-question.html

yep, i dont care to use VSA unless im on an icy draw bridge or something where the car is bound to be completely out of control even at slow speeds (conditions for black ice, etc). i hate that i have to remember each f-king day to turn VSA off while driving over a patch of snow.

hell, i dont use stability control on my RWD cars in the snow. my cars have the right tires on there for the weather to begin with. i dont need some f-king computer caliberated for the dumbarses out there to mandate how i drive my cars.

[mini rant] Blame the government for requiring all models after 2012 to have some sort of stability/traction management system because so many dumbasses can't drive properly on the road today. [/mini rant]

With that said, I wonder if you might disable VSA by pulling 37 and 58 (both 30 Amps). I'd highly recommend looking at a wiring diagram before pulling them though.

If that battery is the original, I'd pop that battery from the '09 into your '12 and take it to the dealer under warranty to save a few bucks... Then again I am kinda cheap. haha

rain and wet today, but cleaned the interior this am in my '12.

last night while going home, we had some patches of black ice. abs did nothing to stop the car while i was sliding down a slight grade. i wasn't going that fast, maybe 10-15mph anticipating black ice. anyway, the abs just buzzed not slowing the car at all, and i was slowly but uncontrollably entering a busy intersection so i decided to let go of the brakes, turn the steering wheel right with a touch of throttle, and yanked the e-brake momentarily to swing the rear around towards traffic coming from the left.

the car slid 90 degrees sideways but in a controlled manner with some countersteer, and it stopped about 5ft from traffic. hahaha.

it was a trick i learned a long time ago when we had an ice storm. when i parked my car on the driveway as i usually did, the car just slid off the driveway from the ice. the car wasnt even on, e-brake pulled, shut down. car just slid off.

i made another approach but parked the car sideways. did not slide off the driveway.

i cracked up watching neighbors trying to put wheelchocks and bricks to stop their cars from sliding off their driveways. lol they saw how i parked my car, and they all did the same.

another reason why i dont want some computer mandating how i control my car.
