We may be the only people left that actually like our little GD Fit. Maybe I wouldn't like it without other cars in the family, but I like it for what it is. Hoping it can someday be a second boosted car in the garage. The one next to it has been making a lot of fun of it through the years. You know how those Domestic's can get. Darn thing is really cocky with it's 532 whp. Hoping the Fit will someday at least be able to have enough power to motor out of an uphill corner. LOL
Are you sure you want to add a turbo to an engine that has that many miles on it? Yes I know it has legendary Honda reliability, but it still is a lot of added stress to a high mileage engine. Just throwing in my .02.

well it's that or slow.. id take the risk and try to salvage the car unless just sell and get a faster car with turbo.
my wife came to the garage while i was working on my R yesterday and she realized my 3 cars have turbos. haha

gotta pay to play.

was out driving the GK today to go shopping with the wife. i have to say, vs all the normal cars i drove the last few weeks from rental car places during my biz trips, the GK drove very well. GK has a fun driving dynamic even though hers is cvt.

and later pulled out my GTI to run a quick errand and to pickup my kids.. yah mang, this is wat im talking about when it comes to AT sporty driving. my older kid is starting to show some interest in cars and today noticed that the GTI makes a distinct fart sound during quick shift ups since DSG.

I do agree with you Ash, but kenchan hit the nail on the head.

If I nuke the motor, I'll either build it or replace. No big loss. It's either too slow to be of use or will hold together.

In it's defense for possibly holding together...
a. it's a Honda
b. it's had extreme maintenance with nothing but full synthetic oil changes with the first one at 500 miles. Doesn't burn a drop of oil and all fluids look and test perfect.
c. we've beat the living snot out of it the whole time and it's never cared. What's a little boost. LOL

In all seriousness, it wouldn't bother me if I blew the heads off the block or poked a rod through the side. It's a $200 junk yard motor.

i agree with item c) GAFIT. i drove both my GD and GE to hell redlining often, bouncing off the rev limiter at times when gearing wasnt right for a turn, etc. ABSOLUTELY NO ISSUE with the engine!

then comes the GK and ruins it with the stupid vtc noise at every cold start. lol haha

There's a guy in Cali that just boosted his GD with 300k miles on it. He's running fine supposedly... Burns no oil and still get's 40 MPG.

I personally run the 10 lb KWSC and so far maybe 3 to 5k HARD miles with autocross... No oil burning for the last 11 months.

Just throw some bearings in it, maybe replace the piston rings, head gasket, water pump, and timing chain guides while the car is apart then call it good if anything.

Just got back from a Taco Bell run. 139,547 miles on the clock now. Runs fine and no issues as of yet... Heck, I drove around without using the paddles (D, no paddles... I typically keep it in S with paddles) and the car drives like a Fit just with a little more low end grunt.

Honda really should at least have a boosted Fit offered as either a RS or SI. Just the L15B7 out the Civic 1.5T will do... no need for the larger CR-V/Si turbo. These things are already light to begin with. That would really shake up the hot hatch market. FiSTs (Fiesta ST), FoSt (Focus ST), GTis, and more a good run for their money.

ESPECIALLY if Honda got ballsy and revamped their 7 speed dual clutch trans from the Fit Hybrid for it or the good old 3 pedal 6 speed and LSD.

That distinctive pop from DCT cars always throws me off. I keep looking for either fireballs or clouds of smoke to come from the vehicle when one passes by. haha

hahaha yah it's definitely a different sound from MT or standard AT. took me a while to accept that it sounded 'cool' in the beginning.

on the menu today.. going out for a nice relaxing drive in my R, will do a quick wipe down afterwards, a few house chores to do today, and just relax rest of day.

i see rain in the forecast so will just do a quick dusting of the interior in my GTI and dress the tires for this week. no wash.

have a great sunday everyone!

Yeah Monday!

Spent most the weekend resting....trying to get over this cold or whatever I picked up last week.

Wanted to wash the cars...but being sick put a stop on that.

Hope everyone has a good Monday!

Get better amigo!

Washed the S2000 a few days ago, took it to Cars & Coffee sunday morning.

Never again.

Had so many idiots shouting "VTEC" at me, ugh. Solid reminder why I avoid car-centric events like the plague.

Honda's and Mustangs bring about the most rude comments at any car meet.

A lot of people are just over the attitudes of both sets of owners and the hype. That or they're jealous of the aftermarket support and number of them that win events. You can be the judge.

With a Honda, they are going to yell "vtec yo" and with a Mustang they are going to ask you not to kill any bystanders on the way out.

I have a Mustang and a Honda. LOL

huh, sorry to hear. were these like a domestic car crowd?

i stopped going to car meets as well. for someone like me (aka hashiriya) car meets is a big waste of time. why spend a nice sunday morning just standing around looking at other people's cars while u could be out motoring ur ride?

unless i have questions on installs or there is a store or manufacturer hosting a mod party with parts to sell and doing installs right there, no meaning. ive been to a mod party where a shop did a supercharger pulley install on one my cars and that was fun. ive also helped others do piggyback installs for free, spring installs, stereo installs, etc. i use to have a lot of time before having kids. LOL
