my blog is basically just a random thoughts thread so u can update ur projects here. keep us entertained..! my car projects are already done so not much going on.
next up is to swap the STI and GTI wheels to winter set. my kid is already ready to make more tips. lol
Woohoo! Quaife was just dropped on my front porch. Looked it over and all looks good! Sticky stinky stuff on it, but all good. Probably the smallest differential I've ever seen.
Good to hear on the RE760's. I'll probably pick up a set in 205/45-16's and put on the wheels I have for now. Shop I use has a $140 coupon on several brands an it includes Bridgestone. Makes them buy 3 get one free basically.
If I wanted to keep the stock size, I could put Hankook Ventus V2's on it and only be out $150 total for all 4 or so in the end. Really cheap, but I'm thinking those aren't going to be quite what I'm looking for.
Do any of you keep items in your Amazon cart/saved items to watch for crazy price drops?
I generally have 20-30 things that I'm watching (car stuff, house stuff, toys for son, etc) and some of them are hilarious.
In that category is a set of Enkei RPF1's I have in my saved list. They change price a few times a day. It's like watching commodity trading! Hawk brake pads seem to do the same. Funny to watch.
i do. i've seen price fluctuate by $50 on more expense items so definitely a smart thing to do! in the last 2 weeks this bypass valve i had in my cart went down and up and down $20.
its going to be kinda wet tomorrow so wont be doing any motoring in my R. too lazy to wash 2 cars. i got gas on the way home in my GTI and dressed the tires.. should be plenty for a rainy/cloudy day tomorrow. i need to head out to in the am to get my hair cut.
then probably take my wife out for lunch again. probably do steak or indian food.
k, menu for today is pulling out my GTI in a bit to head to my hair stylist to get my hair cut.
he's a car guy himself so fun to chat while im there.
then i need to run a few errands this am with the wife, she wants to get a few more accessories for her new room.. thinking of dropping by for some indian food maybe for lunch, but might go to the mall and grab a pretzel instead. lol i still feel kinda full from all the eating out the last few days.
rest of the pm is just streaming some TV i missed during the week, might watch a few more yt vids. not much else going on.. just kickback and relax!
Got my new battery and forks back yesterday so today will be spent putting the bike back together. Forks, oil change, coolant flush/change, fairings reinstalled. Hopefully everything will go as smooth as disassembling haha.
What was interesting was they shipped my battery in a Small flat rate envelope lol. The battery comes in a small cardboard box and was bubble wrapped and crammed in the envelope. I'm sure to take advantage of the $7 shipping...but c'mon...shipping a AGM battery in essentially a padded envelope? Lol. It arrived safe I guess.
huh..driving the GTI was actually kinda fun today even though i think AT cars are boring in general. the turbo and added power definitely helps.
anyway, after getting my left arm and left side of face kinda sun burned during the other drive from the non-tinted windows , i decided to make an appointment to get my R tinted. taking her into my usual guy in 3 days! WOOT! will do the llumar ceramic 35% all around as my GTI.
alright, got off my lazy j-arse and adjusted psi on my GTI and GK at the crack of dawn this am including the spare.
have to say these decorative carpet trays VW gives u to place over the trunk floor is nice but just turns into one of those THING TO TAKE OUT when i need to get to the spare. long story short, was a hassle and glad i only need to check the spare twice a year (once in the Fall and once in the Spring). gave it 65psi in anticipation it will get down to 0F in my area in the winter which will naturally decrease psi.
i have an air compressor in the car so no worry adjusting psi on the spare when i actually need to use it.
then washed my GTI, applied some gummi pfledge stift on the felt gasket at the top of the doors to prevent noise while driving. been opening the door in the rain the last few months go a good time to re-apply a liberal amount.
going to be ordering more detailing stuff this am.. pretty wet today so going to skip the drive today on the R again. will be pulling her out on Tues for the tint so im looking forward to dat.
I love Prima Hydro. It's been MIA for a while, but finally Prima got it back in stock. I bought a gallon, should last me a year. Great stuff really helps maintain the surface.
yah, i heard from nick that he closed the doors to prima car care and will do only limited products as a distributor. i hope they keep producing Hydro. that is by far my favorite product for my dd's.
one gallon lasts me about a year too, im just hoping i can find a product similar to hydro in time if it is officially discontinued..!
