I usually drive in the city, and average about 37 mpg. However, I had to drive round trip to Lakeland a little bit ago, and got my first mostly-freeway tank, and it came out just over 40 mpg! Even on this tank I sat still in traffic some, through Orlando. Naturally, I was very happy about it. For the record, it's a manual Fit Sport, and I drove at the speed limit, on cruise control for the most part (not in downtown Orlando traffic). Just though I would second the cool over-40 news.

39.8 mpg mostly

Thought I would add my 2¢. I average 39.8 mpg over the 6700 miles I have put on the car. Not as easy when you live in a mountainous region (yea I drive from mountains to the coast and back everyday). Did I mention snow? I would have to agree with the use of cruise control; it lowered my average drastically on a trip to NC.

2008 VB Fit Sport 5spd.

That's amazing in a mountainous area - wow! Yeah, no one should use cruise control through varying slopes (I think it even says it in the manual) as it is way more efficient to keep shifting and adjusting for best power.

That sounds really good - I hope I'll have a mileage like this on the long run
