Sold my smart car for a lot less than what I could have gotten it had eBay let me sell it to US buyers who were going to mod it to meet US standards. Either way, I basically broke even on that car and used the money to buy the Fit hehehehe...

I traded my 98 civic with 126,000 on the clock and rear left quarter panel damage for $2500. I think I got a good trade value since I paid $8900 for it 5 years earlier and kept the $1400 a semi truck drivers insurance paid me for the quarter panel.

trade-in?

I have an 88 Ford Econoline extended top conversion van. I'm in a band and we use it to get gear to gigs and back. I paid $500 for it, do you think the dealer would give me anything for it?

I inherited our Fit when my mother-in-law passed away. It's now my daily commuter and I'm loving the gas mileage! I was comuting in a full sized GMC Serria Pickup getting 17 mpg, I'm liking the 32 mpg I'm getting now!

Before I went to the dealership, I looked up online what I should expect to get as a tade-in value for my '95 Mitsubishi. $300. Disappointed? Yeah, but at least I knew what I should expect. The same site said I could expect to sell it myself for up to $1000.
So when the dealership offered me $50 to "take it off my hands" I said no thanks. A co-worker said his son wanted a winter car and would be happy to give me $350 for it so I sold it to him for $300.
So I at least got the trade-in value that I expected. Just not from the dealer.

My 98 Buick Regal blew a head gasket and i couldnt live without a car so instead of fixing it and taking it easy for a week or two i had my buddy pick me up and i went to the dealer and bought one. I did alot of looking at them but didnt want to buy a car until the Buick died. I did the whole deal over the phone on the way to the dealer. Haha. My choices were the MR sport MT or the VBP AT. I think i made the right choice of the MR MT. Im gonna trade the buick on either a Fit or Civic for the wife. Havent decided yet. Im not gonna get shit for the car so im not worried about it i just need to get it out of my driveway.

I traded in my '03 Acura TL w/Nav. It had 118K and I felt a slip starting when it shifted from 2nd to 3rd. Knew it was time to off it and traded it because I couldn't with a good conscience sell it privately. I lost a few thousand on it but since I got the Fit I'm so damn happy I could care less. GOOD TRADE.

One of the major gains was 3 feet of garage space......

I was offered 5k for a 2000 Dodge Dakota SLT v8 4x4. I gladly took this amount because of problems I have begun experiencing with it recently (intermittent headlight failure, Leaking rack n pinion, Alignment issues, stiff steering even with full fluid, and engine knock.) My wife didnt think the offer was fair but I took it. I knew that trying to sell this car by myself would be near impossible because every time I drove I heard or felt one of the problems! I am very happy I traded out of that crap and will probably never buy a Dodge again .

I traded in my BEAUTIFUL 2001 Honda Civic for my Fit. The only reason I traded it in was the fact that it had 90k miles on it and needed some major maintenance (timing belt, water pump, clutch, etc). I wish I had kept it now. My Fit has turned out to be nothing short of a nightmare. I got $7,500 trade in for the Civic and I paid $16,000 for the Fit...$16,000 too much.

Aztec Gold is beautiful? (but really, other than being aztec gold, it looks to have been in fine condition) What problems are you having with your fit?

I loved the Inca Pearl color...it was original! I have to admit it was an acquired taste . I have a post under Fit Talk listing my numerous problems with the Fit. The most recent of those problems being brake related (pedal goes in and out like the rotors are warped) and the CEL light coming on (going into the shop this Thursday...again). https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/fit-...te-my-fit.html

I traded my 94' Mazda B2300 Pickup with 170,000 miles on it. I got $600 for it ($1000 - $400 in repairs). It was a good truck and we had a good run, but it could only seat two and the mpg was half what my Fit gets.

I do miss my truck (and my toolbox) some days though. I think it's a guy thing...
