First "long" trip in the fit
I am not worried about "people," per se. If I was, I wouldn't even post anything, anywhere at all. Go do yourself a favor and do a search on "Mitsubishi Evo car abuse voiding warranty claims." Car manufacturers were voiding warranty claims based on research done on forums on techincalities.
I'm not saying that it will happen here. But better safe than sorry for anything... manufacturers, police, detectives... how do you know what will happen in the future?

this is becoming really comical... so you think that using the decimal every time you refer to a speed will somehow protect you from a mfr reading posts and figuring out the same thing that I and most 9th graders could figure out?
"oh, yeah, man it was cool! .... I was doing 18.3 on route 68... wicked! ..."

Good luck to you, sir, if you ever have a warranty issue and you use that as a defense... I suspect any judge/arbitrator/mediator who can add 2+2 can figure this one out.

"Figuring out" something doesn't amount to much. Why do you think cops have to have people they are tapping say "Cocaine?" Why do they need prostitutes to actually offer sex for money before they can make an arrest? I'm sure a 5th grader can figure out that that girl on the corner is a hooker.... I'm sure that a 5th grader can figure out that the "powdered sugar" they are talking about is in ref to cocaine.... Just like how you figured out what 20.5 mph means.
In case you haven't figured it out yet... it's not what you "think" you know, what you "believe" to be true, or what you "figured out" Einstein.... it's what you can prove... technically!
And BTW, yes... if there were some warranty issues and they say "This guy on the boards said he was going 18.3 on route 66 before his car was fully broken in and therefore we are denying his warranty claim," believe me, that will be the techincality that will get my car fixed! Stating I was going 183 on route 66 gives you exactly a ZERO chance.... but you already knew that....

Back on track...
I regularly do 120 mile 1 way trips to Pennsylvania, and fairly often immediately back to MD for a 240 total, ussually with 2 or 3 people in the car. The Fit is so good for long trips that we take that instead of the Fiancees fully loaded CRV. Comfort just isn't an issue, even with someone in the back seats and a fairly sizeable amount of junk in the Cargo area.

Whenever I head back to NYC from upstate New York during breaks (I'm in college) I drive about 165 miles each way, 330 miles combined.
Fit's short wheelbase and stiff suspension's bit jarring but otherwise it handles the mountainous and treacherous NY/PA beautifully. I get about 39~40 MPG using the cruise control. I've done this trip about 6 times now and no real complains... just wish the ride was softer but finesse is more important to me than soft ride.

What is this? Last comic standing? Anyway, I'm sorry to hear that you and 9th graders are on the same level... but whatever..... you said it, not me...

Especially if you actually go to a proceeding under oath, in which I would simply ask (if I was the manufacturer) directly if you ever went X mph, or over X mph. Now you have a choice: perjure yourself to protect the clever little decimal point game? Or tell the truth?
I'm not a comedian and I'm not Einstein, but I know when I see someone who thinks they're really clever, but in reality they're not as clever as they think --- and the decimal point crowd is a textbook example.

The Fit drives and held up like a champ. I drove it from Orlando, FL to Chicago, IL and that's more than 1100 miles. It's tougher on the hills especially going downhill with a LOT of weight in the car, but other then that the car was great especially since it was sound deaded so it wasn't noisy driving on the highway. I even took a 2 hour nap in the Fit and that wasn't too bad lol.
The things I don't like about the long drive is;
the steering wheel is a bit close to the dash and the seat feels more like a chair. The seat bottom is so flat there is no thigh support (if you can reach the top of the steering wheel).
I do recline a bit to relieve the pressure on my low back though.

This is supposed to be improved in the '09 remodel, isn't it?
