That's still a great deal on a great car that you should have years of fun with. Better price than most find

I paid a tad over 6% or $963 in FL in sales TAX

Was $16,630 out the door
3% would of been sweet
$16,132

I think I can write that off on my Fed return

Fits still need to be ordered in Vermont. I sell Honda's at the Automaster in Burlington and we cannot get the damn things! I had a customer wait 5 months for a VBP 5 speed sport because we could not get one. We had an available black one come in last Friday and by the end of the day it was gone. We have a red 5 speed coming in also should be here this week available, cannot wait to see it because i haven't seen the red Fit yet. Also Congrats on the car!

Thank you.
Is the red manual you have on order a manual or an auto? I have a friend who is thinking about getting a Fit (though I don't know what color he favors), and I could let him know.

Also, I meant to ask, do you have a theory as to why it's so hard for Vermont dealers to order in Fits?

common sense.
the availability adjusts for the demand.
if people can get them in rural Nebraska I think VT is do-able

We live in one of the greenest states where people want good gas mileage, the demand for the Fit/hybrid cars are very high. I have at least one person a day that I have to tell good luck finding a fit because I cannot get you one in a timely manor. We are told that they do not make enough of them but people in ct and get them with ease. I think that out of the 4 Honda dealers in Vermont there maybe 3 fits most of which are sold. I know 9.5 out of 10 Fits that come in here are sold before we even get them. Like he said bought sight unseen because people want them so they buy them before they even come in. A lot of people say thats great you guys are doing well...

Thats really not the case because we are pissing off more people then good because we cannot get the car. From when It came out to now I have had maybe 3 customers drive there Fits before the deposit.

So I guess if a person in Vermont can't find what he wants, it may make sense to drive to CT or Mass. or NY to get it. I am sure that wouldn't make you, as a salesman, very happy. And I can see what you mean about upsetting potential customers.

I'm happy to have found what I was looking for. I believe in buying locally as much as possible. Glad I could do that. I also like to establish a relationship with a dealer, in case service becomes necessary.

I just talked to our honda Rep, next year getting a fit should be a lot easier! The 2009 will be produced in the united states so availability should be alot better!
