An Odell woman was in fair condition at a Lincoln hospital after her car struck a tree and landed in a creek bed west of Beatrice Monday afternoon.
Virginia Christensen, 57, was driving an orange 2007 Honda Fit northbound on Southwest 61st Road approaching West Scott Road when she lost control of the vehicle, according to the Gage County Sheriff’s Office.
Christensen’s car left the road to the right and traveled northeast in the ditch before hitting a tree and coming to rest in a creek bed.
Christensen was flown by Star Care air ambulance to BryanLGH Medical Center West in Lincoln with nonlife-threatening injuries. Authorities say she was wearing a seat belt, and alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
I'm glad to see the Fit can handle this kind of crash and the passenger only has nonlife-threatening injuries. It's never a good thing to read about but it sounds like the driver is fine and judging from the rest of the article the '07 BOM Fit's days have come to an end. Hopefully she liked the Fit enough that she might get another to replace her BOM.
