First tank 35.5 mpg

Got my Fit last Saturday. I piled four other friends and myself into the Fit on Monday night, drove 202 miles to Tulsa to hear Feist, got 35.5 mpg on the way there (combined tank with the quarter tank I had used up around town). The car was full and I was going 70-80 there and back. I agree that higher speeds probably kill the efficiency of this car, as the engine is getting close to 4k (with the MT).

Anyway, so far I am really enjoying my new car. It's nice to have a vehicle where everything works.

LOL! I know the feeling about everything working. I had a 93 civic si with a B18c1 swap with some internal stuff but no A/C. It was fast and stiff but not good for a daily driver. If your going for FE then drive the speed limit and you will see mpgs that will make you happier. Enjoy the FIT, I know I do.

Does anyone know of a gearing modification that would bring revs down at highway speeds? That is something I would seriously look into if the price and modification weren't outlandish. Even if the engine was turning at 3k at 80 mph instead of near 4k, that would help I'd imagine.
