Where to Finda Vivid Blue Sprot Manual???

**edit** um, I'd prefer a "Sport" manual, not the "Sprot" listed in the thread title

Hi, all -- I'm ready to buy a 2008 Vivid Blue sport manual, but four of the local dealers (Northern Virginia) say they don't have and/or can't find one (actooly, one dealer said he can get one from South Carolina in about one month, if I'm willing to pay a $250 transfer fee).

So, the Q is: Am I getting the straight scoop here? Are blue sport manuals that rare??

Any advice/info re: availability would be appreciated. FWIW, I'm willing to travel a fairly long way to pick up a car if the deal makes sense (for example, a couple years ago I drove up to northern NJ to get a great deal on a barely-used Corvette).

Thanks!
Mark

Its not that VBP is rare, just bad luck they dont have them currently in your area.
Id pay the 250$ and get the car you want.
Good luck.

Note: I am 10 hours from you in MI

I talked to a dealer and said I wanted the vbp 08 sport mt as well (I looked at the 6 nearest dealers, there was none). He said four days max. for free. no lie.

just saying.

Very interesting! The way the sales desk "manager" instantly came up withthe $250 transfer fee, I knew that it certainly wasn't an actual-cost. I wonder whether Honda has a standardized inter-dealer transfer fee, or whether Honda subsidizes transfers (i.e., zero transfer cost) and he just made up the $250 fee thinking he could get it out of me. Of course, being fair, I offered a price down in the "invoice" range, and he may have quoted a transfer fee number recognizing that he didn't have the $450 difference between MSRP-invoice to absorb the transfer costs.

Anyway, thanks for the help! And BTW, where is your 4 day transfer dealer located?!

I asked for the VBP 08 sport MT, nothing added.
quote from him "Not to pressure you, but if you order tomorrow, Thursday, it would be here on Monday, latest." and then I asked "will there be any cost to me" and he said "no! There is no cost at all."

Thanks again. Another Q if you don't mind -- what's the ballpark figure you all are discussing? around MSRP? over/under? please feel free to PM me of you would prefer.

Cost was not discussed with the dealer. I was going to demand 16000 out the door. I was talking before and they said 16270 out the door.

Thanks! That's *exactly* where I want to be, too.

If you don't make a deal, let me know -- I may want to talk to your guy!

F.Y.I. Honda Mall of Georgia has 3 manual Sports listed on its website, out of 4 total. 2 are Blue (VBP or TWB??), one color not given, and the other is a Silver AT. It is located in Buford, Ga. (about 45 miles north of Atlanta) Hope this helps you get what you want!!

Excellent! Thanks very much -- I'll stop by the nearest dealer tonight to see if they've found anything, and if not, I'll give these folks a call.

go for it. I think the guy's name was clifton or something. I cannot find the dealership's rooster.

Its not the color, its the manual. The manuals are more scarce than the autos. And my dealer said they could find me any color manual 3-4 days max with no added fees.

I bought the same car and it took me awhile to find one. I test drove one but HATED the dealership so I said no and kept looking.

I found a dealership that the dealer went up and got it and got a GREAT price on it with no "shipping" charges.

I paid 15,554.

I got my VBP Sport manual last month. They found one at another dealer 125 miles away. They did a dealer exchange and had it ready for me to pick up the next day. There was no transfer fee. In fact I got them to throw in some floor mats for free.

Call Criswell Honda in germantown (criswellhonda.net) and see if they have any VBPs. When I bought my fit they had whole rack of different colors.
